SAC is Searching for a Hippodrome Emcee. Hippodrome will be April 8 at 7 p.m. in the CAC Theater.

The Student Activities Council (SAC) is requesting nominations from faculty and staff for a student emcee for Hippodrome 2022 at 7 p.m. April 8 at the Campus Activities Center. The People’s Choice Award is awarded by the student body, which decides what team receives a cash prize to move their business forward. During the process of assessing each team, student judges will get an inside look into what it means to launch a business idea.

Art+Feminism. Wikipedia Edit-a-thon. Wednesday, March 9th. Ulrich Museum of Art. 11 A.M. - 2 P.M. Lunch provided. Free and open to all.

The Ulrich Museum of Art’s Wikipedia Edit-a-thon will take place at the museum 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9. The event is part of the museum’s Women’s History Month celebrations and is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided.

For the third year in a row, the Ulrich is partnering with Art + Feminism, and other communities nationwide, to research, edit and add information to the Wikipedia entries for women and other underrepresented artists. Click here to learn more.

 

KMUW is requesting volunteers to help edit text transcriptions for its Save the Waves project. Participants must have a Gmail account and spelling and grammar skills to help out.

KMUW’s Save the Waves project is an initiative to find, digitize and preserve public broadcasts from across the state of Kansas to be archived at the American Archive of Public Broadcasting and The Library of Congress. More than 2,000 physical media items have been digitized and the staff of KMUW is now in the process of transcribing and cataloging these files.

A graduate student is seeking volunteers for a research study addressing the willingness of members of the campus community to share biometric data. The outcome of the research will provide more knowledge about different behaviors between undergraduate students and other campus populations when it comes to the use of biometric information.

The study will be conducted via an online survey (Qualtrics.com) and is expected to take approximately five to 10 minutes to complete. Participants must be affiliated with Wichita State (student, faculty, staff, etc.), be age 18 or older, and have access to the internet to be able to complete the survey.

Hispanic American Leadership Organization. Interested in volunteering for Miss Latina?

Volunteers are requested for the Miss Latina pageant at 7 p.m. April 16 at the Campus Activities Center theater. The dress rehearsal will be April 15. This volunteer opportunity is open to all students, faculty and staff.

Students who are registered Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO) members are required to volunteer for either Si Se Puede or Miss Latina. Volunteer tasks include the following

  • Decoration set up
  • backstage manager
