Following Shocker men’s basketball’s win against Tulane Feb. 8 in New Orleans, the team is in the running for taking the first place slot in the American Conference. To help keep the momentum going, Shocker Athletics is offering $10 tickets to Wichita State faculty and staff to the next two home games in Charles Koch Arena:

• The team is looking for a repeat against South Florida at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11
• Help men’s basketball take revenge on Tulsa at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14

Currently, South Florida and Tulsa are tied for first place in the American, so a win against both teams will give WSU a dominant lead in the conference. Grab your $10 tickets before they sell out through goshockers.evenue.net.

After garnering six total match victories, Wichita State’s Vichitraporn Vimuktananda was named the American Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week by the conference office on Feb. 3.

Vimuktananda earned three victories each in singles and doubles over the last two weeks of competition. She was pivotal in the Shockers’ two road victories last weekend against Iowa State and Iowa, posting a perfect 4-0 record. Her 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles against Iowa Feb. 1 was the clinching point in the Shockers’ 4-2 victory.

Head out to Charles Koch Arena for Educator Appreciation and Champions for Literacy Night during Shocker women’s basketball’s game against FAU at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Join Shocker men’s basketball against East Carolina at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21 in Charles Koch Arena as the team and fans take a stand together and black out the stigma surrounding mental health. At the special game, fans are encouraged to wear black to highlight awareness, support and community strength.

The first fans through the doors will receive an exclusive Suspenders4Hope T-shirt, helping shine a light on the importance of mental health resources and hope for all.

Kenyon Giles dropped 33 points in Shocker men’s basketball’s win over North Texas Jan. 11, the most points in a single game by a Shocker since 2019. Longtime Wichita State broadcaster Mike Kennedy has been honored with the National Sports Media Association Kansas Sportscaster of the Year award.

Kennedy, the legendary play-by-play Voice of the Shockers, will retire at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, marking the close of a historic 46-year broadcasting career with the program.
