On Friday, April 3, celebrate a legendary era of Shocker Baseball with the second edition of the Mike Kennedy Commemorative Trading Card Series. In honor of Mike’s final season as the beloved Voice of the Shockers, a three-part limited-edition trading card set will be available at select home games throughout the year. Collect all three cards and pay tribute to Kennedy’s remarkable career, unforgettable calls and decades of dedication to Wichita State. The first pitch is at 6 p.m.

Get your appetites ready, Dollar Dog Night is back for Shocker baseball’s game against Tulane at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 2 at Eck Stadium. Postseason basketball is coming back to Wichita State, as the Shocker men’s basketball team earned a bid to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and will host Wyoming in a first round matchup at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 in Charles Koch Arena.

Wichita State (22-11) will be a No. 3 seed in the 32-team field with the winner to face either No. 2 seed Oklahoma State or Davidson. Wichita State last hosted an NIT game in 2011 when the Shockers rattled off five wins to win the NIT championship.

The Shockers are making its second straight appearance in the NIT and 15th in program history. Wichita State is 11-13 all time in the NIT with a 2011 championship. Out of the Mountain West Conference, Wyoming is 18-14 this season. Wichita State is 10-3 all time against Wyoming, with the most recent matchup coming in 2007.

Zaid Al Mashni delivered the clinching victory for Wichita State in a 4-3 upset win over No. 34 Oklahoma State on March 8 at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex.

Sunday’s victory marked Wichita State’s first win over the Cowboys (12-4) since 1996, and the program’s highest-ranked victory since defeating No. 32 Memphis in 2021. The result also pushed the Shockers (9-7) to its fifth straight win, its longest streak since 2021.

Riding a six-game win streak, Shocker men’s basketball enters the 2026 American Conference Championship as the No. 2 seed.

Wichita State concluded the regular season at 13-5 in league play, tied with Tulsa in the league standings, but earned the coveted top two seed due to the tiebreaker. With the No. 2 seed, Wichita State secures a triple bye all the way to the semifinals. Wichita State will take the court in the American Conference Championship at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 14 in Birmingham, Alabama on ESPN2.

The Shockers will play either No. 3 Tulsa, No. 6 North Texas, No. 7 Florida Atlantic or No. 10 Temple for a spot in the championship game.

Shocker men’s basketball is playing with the No. 2 seed in the American Conference on the line against Florida Atlantic at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 7, and students can cheer them on at no additional charge by going to goshockers.com/studenttickets, thanks to the Student Government Association.

A win against FAU will give the Shockers a bye to the semifinals of the American Conference Championship, putting the team just two wins away from a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Additionally, students can attend the pregame Shocker Pride Community Wide Tailgate from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. south of Charles Koch Arena. Enjoy a beer garden (ID required), free tailgate food, music, lawn games and more while supplies last.

Get ready for an unforgettable community pregame tailgate as Shocker Nation celebrates Senior Day as Shocker men’s basketball takes on Florida Atlantic at 3 p.m. Saturday March 7.

The free pregame tailgate will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and feature food, great vibes and a chance to rally together before the massive matchup against FAU. With a win, the Shockers can lock in second place in the conference, making this game one of the most meaningful of the season.

American Conference Championship information:

The Shockers clinch the American Conference’s No. 2 seed with a win on Saturday and are guaranteed to finish no lower than third. The top two seeds in the American Conference Championship advance to the semifinals, meaning two wins is all that is needed to secure the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The conference tournament begins March 11 in Birmingham, Alabama. Should Wichita State remain in the top two, it will play in the semifinals on March 14. Should the Shockers finish in third place, it plays in the quarterfinals on March 13. Tickets are available for the American Championship.
