The Shocker spirit squad is competing in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Nationals this week in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Competitions are livestreamed via Varsity TV, but a subscription is required. Shocker cheer performs at 7:20 p.m. and Shocker dance performs at 11:45 a.m., both Thursday, April 10.

Join an egg-citing weekend with Shocker baseball and softball this weekend. Bring your family out to support the Shockers and hunt for candy-filled eggs on the field after the game. Bring your own basket or clear bag to collect eggs.

Educator Appreciation Day is Friday, April 11 at Shocker baseball’s game versus UTSA. WSU faculty and staff, as well as all educators, can receive admission at no cost when they present their school employee ID. First pitch is at 6 p.m. at Eck Stadium.

Wichita State swept their way to the Lansing Regional championship and a spot in the NCAA Final Four, knocking off Vanderbilt 2-0 April 5 at Royal Scot Bowling Center.

The Shockers (87-36) advance to take on top seed and defending NCAA champion Jacksonville State Friday, April 11 in Las Vegas. #2-seed Nebraska and #3-seed Youngstown State make up the remainder of the bracket.

Riding a five-match-long win streak, the Shocker women’s tennis team slotted in at no. 49 in the April 1 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) computer rankings.

The Shockers (11-6) have been ranked in each top 75 rankings so far this season and this is its second time breaking into the top 50. The Shockers have won 10 of its last 12 matches after a 1-4 start, with its most recent victory being a 4-1 win over the UTSA Roadrunners March 30 at the Wichita Country Club.

Wichita State has wins over three teams ranked in this week’s poll in Kansas State (61), Tulsa (45) and Kentucky (42). Among teams in the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have the fifth highest ranking behind Florida Atlantic (29), Charlotte (40), Tulsa (43) and Rice (48).

In singles, sophomore Xin Tong Wang was once again ranked in singles, slotting in at No. 94. Her highest ranking since Feb. 5 when she was ranked No. 89. Wang is one of only two AAC players to be ranked in singles.

The Shockers are set to play its final home matches of the year in a doubleheader against North Texas at 10 a.m. and Creighton at 4 p.m. Friday, April 4.

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is coming back to Wichita. Wichita State’s alumni team, the AfterShocks — led by Conner Frankamp — will once again host a regional July 18-23 in Charles Koch Arena.

Wear yellow as the Shockers take on #2 ranked Oklahoma at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 at Wilkins Stadium. Rally towels will be provided.

Students can receive a ticket at no additional charge with a Shocker ID while seats are available.

The Shocker women’s bowling team dropped its first match of the Conference USA Championship before storming back through the contender’s bracket with seven straight wins to capture the program’s first conference title March 23 at Colonial Lanes.

With the win, Wichita State clinches the conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA tournament. The selection show will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 26.

The Shockers (84-36) capped off the incredible run with consecutive victories over #1-seed and defending NCAA champion Jacksonville State, besting the Gamecocks 4-3 in the best-of-seven tiebreaker to force an if-necessary championship match then repeating the feat in another best-of-seven showdown.

Wichita State is one of 32 teams selected for the 2025 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and will open at Oklahoma State on Tuesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.

Wichita State (19-14) will make its 14th appearance in the NIT and first since 2019. Shocker fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in sections 211 and 212.

Shocker baseball invites all Wichita State faculty and staff to attend the game at 6 p.m. Friday, March 14 against Louisiana Tech for no additional charge.
