Lot 24 and Lot 25 along 17th Street will be closed Friday, Nov. 21, for the Wallace Invitational for Scholarships in Engineering (WISE) competition. The lots will be reserved for competition participants and guests beginning at 7 a.m. Red reserved and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) stalls will remain open for proper use during this time.

Hosted by the College of Engineering, the WISE competition will take place throughout the day in the Rhatigan Student Center and the John Bardo Center. More information about the annual competition is available at wichita.edu/wise.

Lot 41, the parking lot near Woolsey Hall, will be closed part of Thursday, Nov. 20 and Friday, Nov. 21 for an event in the building. Faculty and staff that typically park in this lot will need to park in other yellow lots in the area of the building. The YMCA lot is not available for faculty, staff or event guest parking and could result in a citation.

The purpose of lot reservations is to help accommodate large groups of guests visiting campus for events or the event itself. Lot reservations are not to be used for WSU affiliates. Remember, visitors to campus can park without an ePermit up to three times each semester.

For the Saturday, Nov. 22 Shocker men’s basketball game, a number of lots in the vicinity of Charles Koch Arena will be reserved for Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization parking beginning at 3 p.m. During this time, signage will be in place alerting drivers of the impending lot assignment changes.

Anyone previously parked in these lots will need to move their cars by 3 p.m. Any unauthorized parking in a game day lot carries a $50 citation fine.

Road striping work will continue on campus starting at 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, weather permitting. One lane traffic will remain open, but expect delays and plan ahead if you will be on campus during this time. The following are areas that will be impacted:

  • Perimeter Road at Shocker Hall to Mike Oatman Drive and near the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex
  • North Yale Avenue
  • Harvard Avenue and 17th Street

The lobby at Parking Services will have limited hours on Tuesday, Nov. 18 and Thursday, Nov. 20, operating noon-4:30 p.m. both days. Additionally, hours could be limited the week of Nov. 17 due to staffing, any temporary closures will be posted on the lobby door. Staff will be unable to accept Banner payments Nov. 17-20, anyone needing to make a payment that has been transferred to Banner is encouraged to pay via the myFinances tab in their myWSU portal.

Regular enforcement and Shocker Assist mobility rides will still operate as usual.
