The deadline for the TRIO McNair Scholars Program has been extended to April 15. The program is accepting applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. McNair assists students who are underrepresented in higher education to prepare for graduate school.

The Women of Wichita State University (WWSU) is now accepting applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. Applications will be accepted until May 31.

WWSU was formed in fall 2018. The group serves the interests of the University, provides student scholarships, promotes social interaction, and a sense of community among its members.

Looking for first-year and senior students to take the Collegiate Learning Assessment.

  • The CLA is a 90- minute open-ended assessment that helps WSU measure how well it is teaching critical thinking, analytic reasoning, problem-solving and writing skills.
  • Consider it practice for test-taking on graduate school entrance exams.
  • Represent WSU in comparison to other school.
  • Add it to your resume.

Eligible students who complete the exam will earn a $25 gift card to either QuikTrip or Shocker Dollars ot use at the RSC dining spots, Starbucks, and Shocker Dining Hall.

If you need to make-up a missed exam or you receive testing accommodations, Testing Services can help.

  1. Visit www.registerblast.com/wsu.
  2. Use the drop-down boxes to select and schedule your exam.
  3.  On test day, check-in at Grace Wilkie Hall, Room 320 Photo ID is required.

It can get busy in Testing Services, so appointments are encouraged. Walk-ins are not guaranteed and only available if space and time permit.

Applications for the fall 2022 and spring 2023 National Student Exchange (NSE) program are now available. The NSE allows undergraduate, domestic students the opportunity to study at one of 200 universities across the United States and Canada while paying Wichita State tuition and earning credit toward their degree.

Women for Women Innovation Fund. Providing recipients a boost to “shock the world.” Apply today! Due: March 10. Wichita.edu/w4w.

Encourage your students to apply for the spring 2022 Women for Women Innovation Fund due at noon March 10. Awarded to female Wichita State students, the Women for Women Innovation Fund provides recipients with capital to advance their business ideas.

The fund has supported women with varied business ideas like:

  • Angelique Bahn-Applied with the desire to create a sustainable retail fashion boutique.
  • Michele Valadez-Applied to help people in the event of a car crash with a 360 Car Cam.
  • Devon Creasman-Applied to help connect local businesses with more consumers.
  • Madeline Shonka-Applied to help people suffering from chronic illnesses with CoVstat.

The Student Ambassador Society (SAS) is accepting applications for the Amie Montgomery Scholarship worth $500. The scholarship is in honor and memory of Amie Montgomery, a founding member of SAS.

Scholarship requirements include:

  • Scholarship(s) will be awarded annually to a student(s) enrolled full-time at Wichita State.
  • Recipient(s) should have a commitment to volunteerism.
  • Recipient(s) may not be members of the Student Ambassador Society.
  • Consideration will be given to students with a minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA.
  • Award(s) will be made with regard to financial need once all other criteria are met.
