Join the Artist Exploration Association (AEA) for its February meeting and learn different watercolor painting techniques from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 in 262 Rhatigan Student Center, Herrman Room.

Supplies will be provided and all majors are welcome. AEA is an art club dedicated to connecting students to the community through art, creativity and service.

The WSU Student Branch of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) has organized a circuit design competition for March 1 for all undergraduate students for the very first time. The winners will be nominated to participate in the IEEE Region 5 Circuit Design Competition along with a cash prize. Students can participate as a group of two people. Only 10 groups can participate in the competition.

On the day of the event, students will be given a task to complete within a limited time. Students are allowed to refer to any materials during the competition. The expected circuit components and concepts will be communicated to all the registered teams well before the competition, so the students will have enough time to prepare. Anyone with basic electronics circuit knowledge from any engineering discipline can participate in the competition.

Only the first 10 teams to register will be selected to participate, and registration closes Feb 23.

Student Veteran Organization Presents Chili Day. 13 Feb 24 11a-1p. Rhatigan Student Center Room 265

Come one, come all to the first ever Student Veterans Organization (SVO) chili day. Officers of the SVO will be set up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in 265 Rhatigan Student Center.

This is a fundraising event aiming to boost awareness of the club and other veteran services offered on campus. Attendees will have a choice between deer, meat-less, bean-less or classic chili and a variety of toppings for $3. First come, first served while supplies last.

2024 Shocker Sprints, February 17, Heskett Center Gymnasium, 9 AM - 12 PM, FREE FOR STUDENTS

Join Shocker Rowing at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 for its indoor rowing event, Shocker Sprints. Test your pre-spring racing fitness in the 2k event by registering and securing your spot on race day, or grab some friends and join the 1000m team event, where you compete against boats of four and race against other teams.

The Shocker Gaming Club (SGC) will have its first meeting of the semester from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 in the Heskett Center E-Sports Hub. Come by and learn what SGC does and how you can join.

There will be pizza, games and announcements of the events SGC will have this semester. Anyone and everyone of any level of interest in gaming, from board games to video games, is welcome. Bring your Shocker ID to get pizza at no additional charge.

The Association of Hindu Students in America (AHINSA) invites Shockers to join its organization. It will hold a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 in 258 Rhatigan Student Center, Smokey Hills Room, to discuss the events that will shape the spring semester for the organization.

This organization provides leadership opportunities to its members, giving everyone a chance to put forth their view and shape the future of the organization. Undergraduate students can use this platform to gain credit towards their degree (where eligible).

Those interested in attending the meeting, or those interested in joining the organization but will not be able to attend the meeting due to any reason, can fill out the registration form.

AHINSA looks forward to seeing Shockers at the meeting and learning more about their culture.

The Spring Involvement Fair allows students an opportunity to connect with a diverse pool of student organizations who want to enhance Shockers’ student experiences.

From recreational, academic, social, special interest, political, religious and cultural organizations, the fair hopes to find a place where you belong. The Spring Involvement Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 on the first and second floors of the Rhatigan Student Center. Prizes such as an iPad, FijiFilm polaroid camera, Kitchen Aid mixer and Ninja Creami will be up for grabs, as well as T-shirts and food, while supplies last.

Shocker Rowing is looking to recruit students interested in rowing. The team is recruiting for the men’s team, women’s team and for coxswains. No experience is required.

There will be two interest meetings for anyone looking to join at 5 p.m. Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 in 206 Heskett Center.

Spectrum: LGBTQ & Allies is hosting a winter wonderland and holiday-themed drag show featuring student performers at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 and is seeking student performers.

Applicants will be offered a platform where they can be themselves and express themselves however they want. The LGBTQ+ advocacy and education group encourages students of all experience levels to participate.  Selected performers will be compensated $100 per performance. They should expect to have one to two performances. Interested applicants must complete a Google Form and submit costume photos, music selections and inquiries by Dec. 1.
