Do you want to learn to knit or looking for a community of others who also enjoy fiber arts? Join Threads Club for Fiber Night, a fun evening of learning to knit headbands, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 22 in 302 Woolsey Hall.

Supplies will be provided, and attendance will be limited to the first 20 people to RSVP.

The Community Service Board is seeking new executive members for all of its chair, VP and presidential positions for the 2024-25 school year.

Applications will close Thursday, March 21. Board members receive a scholarship each semester.

Wichita State Shocker Gaming Club

The Shocker Gaming Club is hosting a Smash Bros. Tournament from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 8 at the Heskett Center Esports Hub. Come try your luck and show off your Smash Bros. skills.

The entry fee is only $3 at the door and is first come, first serve. Sign-ups are from 5:20 to 6 p.m. sharp on the day of the tournament.

  • Warm-ups will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Bring your own Switch controllers. Provided controllers will be limited.

Shocker Gaming Club

Shocker Gaming will host a tabletop-themed Lock-In from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday, March 1 at Daikon Cafe (6157 E. Harry St.). Join the event for a night of fun with other board game enthusiasts.

There will be other games available aside from tabletop games, everyone is welcome to bring their own game as well. it does not have to be tabletop-related.

It is $10 at the door and will include one meal and one drink.

The Premedical Student Association will host a food sale fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 at the Rhatigan Student Center north patio.

Join the Artist Exploration Association (AEA) for its February meeting and learn different watercolor painting techniques from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 in 262 Rhatigan Student Center, Herrman Room.

Supplies will be provided and all majors are welcome. AEA is an art club dedicated to connecting students to the community through art, creativity and service.

The WSU Student Branch of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) has organized a circuit design competition for March 1 for all undergraduate students for the very first time. The winners will be nominated to participate in the IEEE Region 5 Circuit Design Competition along with a cash prize. Students can participate as a group of two people. Only 10 groups can participate in the competition.

On the day of the event, students will be given a task to complete within a limited time. Students are allowed to refer to any materials during the competition. The expected circuit components and concepts will be communicated to all the registered teams well before the competition, so the students will have enough time to prepare. Anyone with basic electronics circuit knowledge from any engineering discipline can participate in the competition.

Only the first 10 teams to register will be selected to participate, and registration closes Feb 23.

Student Veteran Organization Presents Chili Day. 13 Feb 24 11a-1p. Rhatigan Student Center Room 265

Come one, come all to the first ever Student Veterans Organization (SVO) chili day. Officers of the SVO will be set up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in 265 Rhatigan Student Center.

This is a fundraising event aiming to boost awareness of the club and other veteran services offered on campus. Attendees will have a choice between deer, meat-less, bean-less or classic chili and a variety of toppings for $3. First come, first served while supplies last.

Join Shocker Rowing at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 for its indoor rowing event, Shocker Sprints. Test your pre-spring racing fitness in the 2k event by registering and securing your spot on race day, or grab some friends and join the 1000m team event, where you compete against boats of four and race against other teams.
