Fans can enjoy an early Thanksgiving style meal and meet members of the men’s and women’s basketball teams, Oct. 13, at the Shocker Basketball tipoff luncheon. Tickets are on sale now for $60 each, while WSU faculty and staff can purchase tickets for only $30. A table of 10 can also be purchased for $500.

Saturday, Sept. 23, all kids 12 and under receive admission at no additional charge to Shocker volleyball’s game against Charlotte, plus registered Junior Shocker Kids Club members will receive exclusive VIP treatment, including pregame snacks and drinks on the Shocker Way Mezzanine and the opportunity to be a part of the on-court fan tunnel.

The Junior Shocker Club is the official kids club for Shocker Athletics, and membership is a must for all young Shocker fans. All kids 12 years and younger are eligible to become members and can enjoy a number of exclusive benefits and offers not available to anyone else.

As a member, Junior Shockers receive a T-shirt, a letter from Wu and a lanyard. Members also receive a credential that gives them access to all home volleyball, women’s basketball and baseball games at no additional charge. Members will also have free admission to most home softball games as well as one designated Junior Shocker men’s basketball game.

Memberships are $30 per child.

Wichita State Athletics announced plans to add women’s bowling as a NCAA Division I sport competing in 2024-25. Women’s bowling will become the 16th sport at Wichita State, launching July 1, 2024. Current women’s bowling coach Holly Harris will serve as the program’s first NCAA Division I women’s head coach.

Shocker volleyball will have their regular season opener against Kansas at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 in Charles Koch Arena. The theme for the game is yellow out, and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will get a yellow Wichita State T-shirt at no additional charge.

Students receive admission to all Shocker home games at no additional charge with Shocker ID.

The annual JK Gold Classic cross country meet is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 2 at L.W. Clapp Park, 4611 E. Harry St. Come out and support the Shockers at the first meet of the year. The men start running at 8:25 a.m., and the women start at 8:55 a.m.

Wichita State Volleyball Exhibition Match vs Oklahoma on Thursday, August 17 at 4pm inside Charles Koch Arena

Wichita State volleyball takes on Oklahoma in an exhibition match at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17 in Charles Koch Arena.

Admission to the match is available to Wichita State students with a valid Shocker ID at no additional charge.

In 2020, the Athletics Policy and Culture Task Force was created to examine the WSU Athletics Department’s organizational policies and practices, with the goal to support WSU’s student-athletes and athletics staff members.

The task force, comprised of a cross-section of athletics and university staff and students, examined the policies, procedures and practices of WSU and the Athletics Department; the policies and procedures of WSU’s American Athletic Conference (AAC) and other institutional peers; and data produced from a self-reported climate study.

After examining all the data, the task force made 41 recommendations in the following areas. As of spring 2023, ICAA has reached completion (or substantial completion) in 39 of the 41 recommendations.
