Parking will be enforced as usual in all yellow, faculty/staff parking lots during spring break, which is from Monday, March 13 to Friday, March 17, as faculty and staff are still present on campus during this time.

Green student lots will be open parking during the break, and regular enforcement will begin again on Monday, March 20.

The March 2023 Food For Fines will take place Tuesday, March 7 through Friday, March 10. Food for Fines is an initiative to support the Shocker Support Locker while providing a cheaper alternative to pay parking citations. Note that donations can only be accepted during the donation period.

All donations for Food for Fines must be dropped off at the Student Government Association’s office in 219 Rhatigan Student Center.

Shocker Athletics will be working on the stadium lights at Eck Stadium on Tuesday Feb. 28 and Wednesday, March 1.

During this time, a section of the parking lot outside the stadium, lot 19E, will be blocked off. The lot will close the night before, Monday, Feb. 27, and all vehicles will need to be out of the area. The lot will reopen once the work is finished.

In honor of President’s Day, Wichita Transit will not run bus service on Monday, Feb. 20. Make other transportation arrangements for that day. Service will resume at regular hours on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Food For Fines, February 7-10, Donations can be made by anyone with a current WSU ID and completed online Food for Fines form

Note that donations can only be accepted during the donation period. All citations given after the end of the fall 2022 semester through February are eligible.

The majority of the parking lot at Woolsey Hall, lot 41, will be closed Thursday, Jan. 26 for events during the day. ADA spaces are always open outside of a lot reservation. Make plans for how you intend to park prior to coming to campus.

Parking at the YMCA, lot 40, is limited to two hours and is only available to those who are using the YMCA.

Citations will be issued to those who park for longer than two hours or use the parking lot while not in the YMCA.

Wu Shock with Wichita Transit bus

Beginning Jan. 17, Wichita Transit will offer a connection to WSU West.

To travel from campus to WSU West, catch Route 21 inbound to the Wichita Transit Center. Upon arrival, board Route 12 to North Maize Road. The total ride time is approximately 50 minutes.

When returning to campus, the last Route 12 pickup from WSU West will be at 7 p.m. Though Route 21 ends service to campus from the transit center at 6:20 p.m, Route 202A offers return trips until 9:45 p.m.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 9, a portion of parking lot 5 north of Wilkins Stadium will be closed for utility work.

One entry drive and several stalls will be coned off in the construction area. The remaining entries and stalls will remain open. A short section of Perimeter Road next to the lot may be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic for a period of time for construction. Please use care when driving through this area. Work is scheduled to be completed and the lot reopened before spring classes begin.
