The Student Activities Council is searching for executive board members for the 2023-24 school year. Members have the opportunity to build skills in leadership, teamwork, event planning and collaboration.

Students who are selected will receive a stipend of up to $1,000 each semester. Officer applications will close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, April 9, and chairperson applications will close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, April 16.

Two faculty members from the Department of Biomedical Engineering within the College of Engineering at Wichita State are serving on BioKansas committees for 2023. Dr. Anil Mahapatro, chair of the department and an associate professor, is serving on the BioKansas Workforce Committee, and Dr. Lindsey Ott, assistant teaching professor, is serving on the BioKansas Engagement Committee.

The mission of BioKansas is to lead the effort of supporting and growing Kansas’ bioscience ecosystem including bioscience research, commercialization, training and business development. Through organizational and collaborative efforts, the organization provides meaningful content, connections and advocacy to advance the state’s bioscience industry.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business is launching its Business Hall of Fame to recognize, honor and celebrate the industry executives and business leaders who have gone above and beyond in making a significant impact on their communities and advancement of the Barton School.

The honoree(s) will be inducted into the Barton School of Business Hall of Fame during an event on Feb. 17, 2024 at Mark Arts.

Stephanie Luetters, a distinguished member of the Barton School’s dean’s advisory board, has been named the 2023-24 hall of fame chair. Luetters is an active philanthropist working for causes and projects that can make a difference in the community.

The Rhatigan Student Center will be closed on Sunday, April 9. Regular hours will resume on Monday, April 10.

The Stephanie Mott Living Authentically Award recognizes the leadership, vision and commitment of a faculty member, staff member or graduate assistant to the LGBTQ+ communities at Wichita State. This award was formerly known as the Harvey Milk Award.

Individuals are encouraged to nominate a deserving individual who has demonstrated a commitment to inclusive excellence. Nominations close at 11:59 p.m. Friday, March 31.
