Spring 2022 Applications for the Women for Women Innovation Fund are due at noon March 10. Awarded to female Wichita State students, the Women for Women Innovation Fund provides recipients with capital to advance their business ideas.

The fund has supported women with varied business ideas like:

• Angelique Bahn-Applied with the desire to create a sustainable retail fashion boutique.
• Michele Valadez-Applied to help people in the event of a car crash with a 360 Car Cam.
• Devon Creasman-Applied to help connect local businesses with more consumers.
• Madeline Shonka-Applied to help people suffering from chronic illnesses with CoVstat.

Learn to launch a business at the Shocker New Venture Competition (SNVC). During this three-round competition, students will gain experience pitching, networking and developing a business model while also being provided invaluable feedback.

Applications to compete will be accepted until March 31. The timeline for the competition is as follows:

• March 31: Applications, including a three-minute video, are due and round one commences.
• April 1-7: Judging of business model videos
• April 8: Round one, results announced
• April 13: Required workshop for teams advancing to trade show
• April 19: Reception for teams in trade show (attendance required)
• April 22: Round two, trade show
• April 29: Round three, finals

All full and part-time Wichita State female students are invited to apply for the Women for Women’s Innovation Scholarship Fund.

The fund is awarded to eligible WSU students to support innovative ideas that show the promise of commercialization. The fund was established in 2020 to support women leaders and entrepreneurs in moving their ideas forward by providing recipients a boost to Shock the World.

Applications will be accepted until Oct. 8.
