Clash Build Cash is not just about competition, it’s an event that promises to entertain and inspire. Its excited to invite students to be a spectator from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

The Center for Entrepreneurship invites Shockers Clash Build Cash from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 15 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

Clash Build Cash offers an unparalleled opportunity to develop and demonstrate a wide range of essential professional skills, including strategic decision-making, adaptability and innovative thinking. Students of any academic background are welcome to participate in the multiplayer business simulation game hosted on Venture Valley.

Submissions are open until Nov. 10.

The Center for Entrepreneurship has funding dedicated to helping Shockers make their ideas rock the marketplace.

The Center for Entrepreneurship knows that building an idea can be challenging, especially when faced with financial constraints, and that’s why its excited to offer these opportunities to remove those barriers. It’s about encouraging students to explore their innovative ideas and take risks as they build ideas with commercial possibility.

This month, Shockers have the chance to win a cash prize by competing in Idea Set Go, a competition for participants to look into a unique audience and tackle the issue of catering to a range of learning needs within that group.

Students are encouraged to submit a 90-second video pitch between Sept. 12-22 and then tune back into WSU Center for Entrepreneurship’s social media for the live judging Sept. 25-29:

Women WSU students who have identified a problem people want fixed and have a solution are encouraged to apply for the Women for Women Innovation Fund.

This fund is awarded to aid women in moving forward varied ideas, including previous winners:

  • A device meant to a wound vacuum device used following cesarean deliveries to mitigate surgical site infections (Chinello Ogogor, Wombcare)
  • A product designed to provide menstruating individuals a more reliable means of predicting periods through continual hormone monitoring (XX Menstrual Monitoring)
  • Customizable and sustainable breast prosthesis (Brittany Wojciechowski, Amulya Lomte, and Maria Jose Carrillo Munoz)
  • A service connecting local businesses with more consumers (Devon Creasman)
  • A symptom-tracking tool meant to aid people struggling with chronic illness (Madeline Shonka, CoVstat)

During the upcoming Shocker New Venture Competition Trade Show on Friday, April 21, students have the opportunity to visit competitors’ booths and see other WSU students from different disciplines working to bring ideas to market.

It is an excellent opportunity to learn a little of what it might take to start a business while networking with industry professionals, experts, and peers.

Register today as a student judge to impact the outcome of the Shocker New Venture Competition by selecting which team wins the People’s Choice Award.

Get ready to compete in the Shocker New Venture Competition for up to $10,000 for a business idea. The Shocker New Venture Competition (SNVC) is returning this spring, and students can earn up to $10,000 for their business idea.

Take time this winter break to prepare an idea to enter into this three-round competition.

Applications for the fall 2022 Women for Women Innovation Award and Moral Family Fund for Innovation Award have been extended to Friday, Dec. 2.

These awards were established to provide seed money to student entrepreneurs with startup ideas.  Students attending Wichita State University full or part-time are eligible.
