Come look at the new and exciting spaces in Ablah Library from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20.

Tour the remodeled 24-hour study room. Peek inside the new Focus Rooms. Look at the One-Button Studio used for video recording. Play in the VR Zone. Try the Lightboard Studio. Learn what software is available to create multi-media projects.

We will also look at study rooms, collections and other spaces. Event is free, and registration is required. Participants will receive an email reminder the day before the event.

As President Rick Muma’s book discussion nears, University Libraries has several copies of “Broke: The Racial Consequences of Underfunding Public Universities” by Laura T. Hamilton and Kelly Nielsen available on course reserve. Visit the circulation desk on the main floor of Ablah Library, or chat with our reference librarians virtually at the Libraries’ website for more info. There is also an ebook copy of the book, however there is limited access.

President Muma is set to lead a book discussion on “Broke” 2-2:50 p.m. Aug. 12, at Devlin Hall. This event will also be available live on Zoom.

University Libraries will host a book discussion from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5 at the Leisure Reading Room located in the Ablah Library. Light refreshments will be provided.

The discussion will cover “What the Eyes Don’t See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City” by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, and it is the WSU Common Read selection for the current school year. The book describes the Flint water crisis and its ramifications to the local community, health care providers and whistleblowers.

The event is open to the Wichita State community. Registration is not required, but registered attendees will receive an email reminder.
