Join University Libraries in a discussion about the Wichita State Common Read selection for the 2022 school year 1:3–2:30 p.m. at Aug. 11 Leisure Reading Room located in Ablah Library. “Notes From a Young Black Chef” is a memoir about a young man from the Bronx projects and his path to opening an elite restaurant in Washington D.C. His path is fraught with painful lessons we can all learn from.

University Libraries annual Edible Book Festival is set for this Friday, April 1 in Ablah Library. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are encouraged to submit their culinary creations for a chance to win awesome prizes.

There is no-cost to sign-up, and contestants must be signed up by noon Thursday, March 31. The event takes place in-person, and participants must bring their entry to the library for voting. Please read the rules and regulations at the link below.

Zotero is a free, easy-to-use, and powerful tool to help you collect, organize, cite, and share your research. In this workshop, librarians will demonstrate how reference management systems can make your life much easier in writing, citing, and keeping track of your resources and research projects.

Dr. Joseph Kerski and Mark Stewart, from the international Geographical Information Systems (GIS) field technology company Esri, will present two workshops March 24-25. The events are hosted by University Libraries.

The first workshop, “Data, Dashboards, and Dynamic Maps: GIS Today and Tomorrow” will take place 3-4 p.m. March 24 at the “Ablah Library. During the event. Kerski and Stewart will introduce GIS technology with examples from a variety of industry and academic fields.
