The workshop will introduce participants to different types of patents and applications, patent eligibility, parts of a patent, how to find free legal assistance, and patent searching. The workshop will provide resources and strategies for market research including how to discover industry trends, identify competitors at home and abroad, how to determine your target market, and where to find where your best customers are located. Registration for this workshop is free of charge.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in University Libraries’ annual Edible Book Festival which will take place 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Ablah Library. Registration is free of charge. Those who register are encouraged to create edible art based on their favorite literature for a chance to win prizes.

This workshop will teach participants how to make interactive dynamic maps with ArcGIS Online to enhance their research and career pathway. Dr. Joseph Kerski, renowned geographer and education manager at Environmental Systems Research Institute, will present the fundamental tools of ArcGIS Online, an accessible platform for making digital maps with data from a variety of sources and academic fields.
