One Small Step is an initiative of StoryCorps, a national oral history non-profit organization that invites two strangers with different political views to sit down together for a respectful facilitated conversation, and StoryCorps will be coming to WSU from Thursday, Sept. 7 to Sept. 9 at the Ulrich Museum.
The audio of this conversation is recorded and archived in the Library of Congress, with permission from participants. One Small Step is not about debating political issues, but a chance for two people with different backgrounds and beliefs to share stories and experiences that have shaped their values and worldviews.
In these divisive times, One Small Step seeks to bring people together who may not otherwise interact and creates a space where they can share, listen and connect with one another. If you would like to participate in one of these important conversations, sign up online ASAP. When filling out the questionnaire, specify that you would like to participate in-person. Space is limited.
Conversations are scheduled for the following time frames:
- 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 7
- 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 8
- 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 9
