RSC Building extending hours for Move-In

To accommodate students during the fall 2022 Move-In, the Rhatigan Student Center (RSC) will extend its hours Aug. 13-14 to the following:

7:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Aug. 13
9 a.m.-8 p.m. Aug. 14

RSC Shocker Store
8 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 13
1-5 p.m. Aug. 14

Shocker Sports Grill and Lanes
11 a.m.-10 p.m. Aug. 13
11 a.m.-8 p.m. Aug. 14

Restaurants at the RSC food court will be open at the following hours:

Morrison Hall elevator temporarily inaccessible Aug. 12-19

Morrison Hall will soon begin a first-floor replacement and abatement project. Starting at 5 p.m. Aug. 12, the elevator will be temporarily inaccessible, along with the entrance to Strategic Communications.

Both will be available again by end of day Aug. 19.

Individuals in Strategic Communications, the basement or the second floor can be reached via phone or email during that time.

Lunch and learn from your desk

The very popular Panel Hour is back as part of the ARC this August, and we hope you plan to join us right from your desk. Each session runs 50 minutes and is online over the lunch hour. Everyone is invited. Here is what we have lined up for you:

Join Rising to the Challenge Virtual Workshop series

The Community Engagement Institute invites faculty and staff to the 2022 Rising to the Challenge virtual workshop series. Participants can join each individual or all of these interactive and free workshops centered on navigating challenges with resilience and intention. The sessions begin at 11 a.m. and last 60 minutes during the following dates:

Learn about first-gen experiences Aug. 15

The Graduate School will host a round table discussion featuring first-generation students and faculty at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15 at the 266 Rhatigan Student Center. During the event, first-gen students will share their experiences attending graduate school.

The round table will include first-generation faculty, members of Wichita State’s First-Generation Coordinating Council, First Generation Student Organization, Graduate Student Council and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
