The 5th Annual NXT LVL Garage Party is back and bigger than ever. Get ready for an unforgettable night filled with delicious food, exciting games, live music and amazing prizes from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Rhatigan Student Center parking garage. Be sure to grab your exclusive NXT LVL shirt, available for free while supplies last.

This high-energy event is the perfect way to kick off the semester and connect with fellow Shockers. Admission is exclusive to Wichita State students. Note that no bags or outside food will be permitted; clear bags are accepted.

New to Wichita State? Attend WSU Libraries at a come-and-go event happening from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17 at Ablah Library. There will be games, tunes, free T-shirts, snacks and drinks while they last. No pressure, no lectures, just good vibes.

Welcomefest is the official welcome campaign for new and returning Shockers and features events, activities and services designed to help everyone have a successful transition to life at Wichita State. Popular programs awaiting new and returning Shockers include the NXT LVL Garage Party, Clash of the Colleges, Involvement Fair and much more.

Hosted by various student groups and campus departments, most events are free and give all students a chance to get acquainted with each other, learn their way around campus and find ways to connect with the community.

Are you interested in joining a sorority? Panhellenic Council invites you to the Panhellenic COB Event from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 on Omega Court, just north of campus between Corbin Education Center and Eck Stadium.

Whether you missed Primary Recruitment in the fall or simply want to learn more about the vibrant Panhellenic community at Wichita State, this event is the perfect opportunity to explore.

Join to:

• Meet members from each Panhellenic chapter.
• Learn about the values, traditions and opportunities within the community.

Stop by the Rhatigan Student Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 for the spring 2025 Involvement Fair to connect with fellow shockers, explore upcoming events and discover exciting student programs relating to the over 200 active student organizations.

The Office of Student Engagement & Belonging encourages students who are looking to find their community or want to get more involved on campus as a Shocker to make plans to attend this event. There will be hot chocolate and cookies for the early comers and amazing raffle prizes.

Get ready to mark your calendars for the event of the year. The annual yard show is back and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. This year will be a collaboration with National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and Cultural Greek Council (CGC) to bring the community a show it won’t want to miss.

Get ready to witness the amazing talents and skills of WSU’s sororities and fraternities at 6 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Shocker Hall courtyard.

Join Shocker Rowing for an evening full of fun on the downtown Arkansas River with S’mores and Oars from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28. The event is available at no additional charge with a Shocker ID and $20 for anyone without a Shocker ID.

Boats and Bikes will provide yard games, s’mores, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and pedal boats. Shocker Rowing will offer a “Learn 2 Row with Shocker Rowing” demonstration teaching anyone how to row on the Arkansas River, and fishing will be available through Wildlife and Fisheries.
