Take a break from studying for midterms and support Shocker softball as they take on Stanford at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 9 in Wilkins Stadium.

WSU students will receive pizza and a decal sticker at the game, so students should bring their Shocker ID to the stadium ticket office for admission to the game at no additional charge.

The Wichita State vs Oakland series is this weekend at Eck Stadium. The following are the times and dates for the upcoming games:

  • 3 p.m. Friday, March 3
  • 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4
  • 1 p.m. Sunday, March 5

Students receive admission to all games at no additional charge with a Shocker ID. Faculty and staff also receive admission to Friday home games at no additional charge for Faculty/Staff Fridays.

Shocker Athletics is excited to announce Faculty/Staff Fridays at 2023 Shocker baseball games. All WSU faculty and staff can receive one general admission ticket to Friday baseball games at no additional charge by presenting their WSU ID at the Eck Stadium box office on the day of the game.

The first Faculty/Staff Friday is at 3 p.m. Friday, March 3 when the Shockers take on Oakland.

Faculty and staff can also purchase discounted Junior Shocker Kids Club memberships — which includes free admission to baseball — and make it a family outing. Use promo code JRSHOCKS at the Shocker Athletics online ticket office for the discount.

Shocker softball has cracked the top 25 rankings of NCAA softball teams for the first time this season according to D1Softball, finding itself ranked 23rd overall.

The ranking comes after the team’s 4-0 winning streak last weekend during the North Texas Invitational, beating Northwestern State and North Texas 2-0 each. Shocker softball’s overall record for the season is 12-3.

Shocker softball’s next game will be at home against Western Illinois at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, March 4 in Wilkins Stadium. Season tickets for softball games are sold out, but individual game tickets are still available.

Come out and support women’s basketball seniors on their Senior Day as they take on the Temple Owls at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 in Charles Koch Arena.

Wear black and yellow to show support, and students who bring their Shocker ID to the ticket office can receive a ticket to the game at no additional charge.

Kick off the blackout game against Memphis at the pregame student tailgate event featuring pizza, soda and a T-shirt for the first 300 students. The event begins at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 inside Charles Koch Arena at the Aetna Multipurpose Center practice facility.

There are also rumors of a very special celebrity guest potentially making an appearance at the tailgate, so keep an eye on the Shock Block Twitter and the Shock Block Instagram pages for more details coming soon.

Admission to the tailgate event is open to all students, but students must have a ticket to the game. Tickets are available for pickup at no additional charge to students with a Shocker ID at the Shocker Ticket Office, Rhatigan Student Center Shocker Store, Braeburn Square Shocker Store, Heskett Center, Shocker Hall, Shocker Suites, or WSU South and West Campuses.

On Feb. 2, the Shocker Bowling men’s and women’s teams were invited to the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Collegiate Championships, where the top six teams in the nation competed for a chance to bowl on a PBA telecast.

The Shocker men and women both qualified for the finals, which were taped and will air this weekend on Fox Sports 1. Tune in at 12 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 to watch both Shocker Bowling teams compete for the PBA Collegiate Championship trophy.
