Fans cheer for the Shocker basketball team at Charles Koch Arena

Basketball season is officially here, and head coaches, Terry Nooner and Paul Mills, enter year two with winning expectations. Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams open regular season play Monday, Nov. 4.

Faculty and staff at WSU can purchase discounted season tickets for the 2024-25 season now. Simply call the Shocker Ticket Office at 316-978-3267 or complete a ticket information request form.

Student tickets for the Shocker men’s basketball home exhibition against Emporia State are now available for pickup. The game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27. Student entrance doors on the east side of Charles Koch Arena open at 4:50 p.m.

The student section theme for the game is “Sunday Scaries” — wear your Halloween costume and get ready to instill fear into Emporia State with the introduction of “fear the wheat” foam sticks for every student in the Shock Block.

Students can claim their student ticket for the game at no additional charge, thanks to the Student Government Association, at any one of eight ticket pickup locations listed below when they present their Shocker ID. Students can also purchase up to two guest tickets at Charles Koch Arena for only $15 per ticket.

Shocker volleyball will host its annual Dig Pink match to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. Come support your fellow Shockers and breast cancer awareness when they take on Memphis at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at home.

The first 500 fans will receive a pink Shocker Store Cup and rally towel. And don’t forget that all Shocker can attend home games at no additional charge with their Shocker IDs, thanks to the Student Government Association.

Wichita State Baseball takes on Dallas Baptist on October 19th and hosts a Fall World Series October 22-26.

Come join the 2024 Shocker Basketball Tipoff Luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4 in the Aetna Multi-Purpose Center inside Charles Koch Arena. Wichita State faculty and staff can purchase tickets to this event half off for $30.

The event is an opportunity to engage with the basketball athletes and their coaches and enjoy an early Thanksgiving-style meal. After lunch is served, Athletic Director Kevin Saal will address the crowd and head coaches Paul Mills and Terry Nooner will introduce their teams and preview the upcoming season.
