Faculty are continuing to use the Student Early Alert System (SEAS) to share feedback on student progress. If you receive a SEAS alert, it means your instructor has noticed something that may impact your success — such as attendance, participation or missing assignments. This is an opportunity to take action and connect with support.

flu vaccines at Student Health

Student Health Services has flu vaccines available for WSU students, faculty and staff. Cost is $25 plus administration fee but may be free with your health insurance benefits (all plans are different). Financial assistance for self-pay students may be available for the administration fee. Walk-in to the Student Wellness Center 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday for your flu vaccine before cold and flu season.

Student Health Services is also hosting two upcoming pop-up flu shot clinics:

This upcoming Spring Break, WSU students have an opportunity to spend the week volunteering in Dallas Texas. Trip participants will depart Wichita March 15 and will travel back March 20 and will have an opportunity to volunteer throughout the week with different organizations each day with volunteer work with organizations that serve issues related to food and hunger, youth and mentoring, environment and sustainability, and animal welfare. On the final day, participants will tour either at Six Flags or the museums in Dallas. At the conclusion of the day the group will travel back to Kansas and arrive back in Kansas around midnight March 21.

The cost of the trip is $150 per student and includes transportation to Texas, lodging, food, programming and a final day/fun activity.

There are a few spots left in some of the connection groups, so consider finishing the semester by building connections and community going into the spring.

Looking to meet new people and make friends? ProjectConnect is a six-week program that connects students with fellow Shockers to build their campus community. Connection is essential to the college experience, and organizations are excited to connect with you. There are a variety of small groups to choose from focused on building friendships and connections to resources, involvement opportunities and with people.

The Child Development Center has immediate pre-K openings for this school year. Children need to be entering kindergarten in fall 2026 to be eligible for this classroom. Call 316-978-3109 for more information.

October is ADHD Awareness Month, aimed at educating the public about Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and promoting understanding and support for those affected. Join the Office of Student Accommodations and Testing, Trio DSS and Student Success – Success Coaches at a table event from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center. They will be available to discuss the services and programs at WSU that are available to students that are diagnosed with ADHD or believe that they might be undiagnosed.
