The Office of Strategic Communications offers headshots for WSU faculty and staff at no charge. For summer 2021, headshot events will be scheduled once a month over two days at the Rhatigan Student Center. You must reserve your spot with an appointment.

Beginning July 6, Zoom will require users to sign in with their myWSU ID via the Single Sign-On (SSO) option. Users already using SSO will not notice any difference.

Blackboard has gone through several changes lately and there are more to come. If you are confused by Ultra, you’re not alone.

For this next episode of Tuesday Talks, join Nurse Heather Stafford, Student Health Services associate director; Chad Steinkamp, Undergraduate Admissions assistant director; Pamela O’Neal, Office of Adult Learning associate director; and Jamie Shaddix, APRN and returning adult student, as they discuss what resources Wichita State University offers returning adult students.

Due to Covid-19,  the 26th Annual McNair Scholars Closing Symposium will be a virtual event beginning with the Bradley Cole Poster Competition. The survey for poster voting will be available July 16-20.

Oral Presentations will be available via YouTube July 31 at a later date. Please note the survey is constructed for total anonymity, however, to prevent ballot stuffing, voters will not be able to use the same computer or laptop or mobile device to view the posters.

Wichita State University Libraries will close July 4-5 in observance of Independence Day. Ablah Library will be open 1-7 p.m. July 3.

The Rhatigan Student Center and its departments will close July 3-5 in observance of Independence Day.

One of the principle values of Wichita State University is student-centeredness, and its efforts to create an inclusive and safe educational environment are central to the purpose of both the University and the Student Government Association.

Beginning July 1, WSU will implement mandatory Title IX training for all students to complete. The information provided in this training will provide students with the tools to better support and protect their fellow Shockers. Students who fail to perform the Title IX training will be subject to a registration hold on their accounts.

In May, Wichita State University began the transition from the Blackboard platform to the Ultra platform. The complete transition will take more than a year and a half, but you may have noticed significant changes already.

WSU is currently in the “Ultra Base Navigation” platform, which means logging in and finding courses is different than before. However, once professors and students log in, they look almost identical because the move to Ultra is a two-step process. At this time, most WSU courses are still in the Blackboard format.
