The second annual Healthcare Research Roundtable will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 22. This year it’s reaching out to the University of Kansas and WSU Tech as well as the community and industry partners, and it’s extending its scope to include clinical work, the arts, humanities, applied studies and all the health-related work done.

As part of their sergeant promotion process, the Wichita State University Police Department (WSUPD) will do presentations for the community starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 in 261 Rhatigan Student Center, Olive Room. From 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries will host a public reception for “What’s Up Doc? (feat. Umentary)” in 204 McKnight Art Center, ProjectSpace gallery.

“What’s Up Doc? (feat. Umentary)” features the semester-long projects of Jennifer Ray’s interdisciplinary Documentary Media and Social Strategies students. Their work crosses media, and includes filmmaking, spoken word performance, photography, sculpture and web-based projects. Taking an expansive approach to documentary, students have mined their own family histories, worldviews and life experiences to develop these projects. A spoken word piece by Kenna Green will be performed at 5 p.m.

Bingo cards and Save the date

The Women of WSU (WWSU) invite the campus community to play bingo Feb. 13. Registration opens in January.

Join the Women of WSU as it offers three games. Participants will select one to three cards per game at $5 per card and play for great prizes. All money raised will go towards the scholarships WWSU presents annually.

Choose from a variety of lunch choices, $14 each, or bring your own.

Join the Department of Human Performance Studies as its faculty and staff salutes students from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 in the Heskett Center lobby.

Sample some great chili, vote for the overall favorite and see which student and which faculty/staff wins the Judges’ Choice Award. Bring a minimum of one non-perishable food item for a local food bank or a $2 donation and join for a great treat.

The Mentorship 360 team is inviting any faculty, staff and administrators to attend the Mentorship 360 Lunch and Learn Closing Symposium at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11 in 266 Rhatigan Student Center, Pike Room. The event will feature seven College of Engineering faculty members, including Samantha Corcoran, Dr. Yimesker Yihun, Dr. Cindi Mason, Dr. Lindsey Ott, Dr. Rajeev Nair, Dr. Ehsan Salari and Dr. Yang-Seon Kim.

The Mentorship 360 team within the College of Engineering at WSU is composed of Dr. Yimesker Yihun, Dr. Wei Wei, Dr. Yang-Seon Kim and Dr. Rajeev Nair. The focus of Mentorship 360 teams is to facilitate engineering faculty success, and the Mentorship 360 program was born from the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN) and the KEEN Engineering Unleashed community. The community includes more than 5,000 engineering faculty, staff and administrators who are dedicated to instilling an entrepreneurial mindset within undergraduate engineering students.
