August 5, 2022 — Join librarians from University Libraries at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 in the Ablah Library Leisure Reading Room for a discussion about the WSU Common Read selection for the current school year. "Notes From a Young Black Chef" is a memoir about a young man from the Bronx projects and his path to opening an elite restaurant in Washington, D.C.

August 4, 2022 — Discover SBIR and STTR grant opportunities available through the Department of Agriculture during a webinar at 10 a.m. on Aug. 25. This webinar is designed to introduce participants to the opportunities with the USDA SBIR program and meet one-on-one with program manager Melinda Coffman. Join us to gain a better understanding of the program and the resources available to assist you in proposal development. This event is free to attend, but registration is required.

July 29, 2022 — The Shocker Support Locker is hosting a back-to-school supply drive 9-11 a.m. July 25-Aug. 19 at the the Office of Student Engagement, Advocacy & Leadership front desk located at 216 Rhatigan Student Center.

July 29, 2022 — Dr. Amy Drassen Ham, clinical professor in Wichita State's College of Health Professions, has been the faculty advisor for the HEALTH Student Association since its inception in 2005. It’s been a longtime dream of hers to create a scholarship supporting students in the organization.

July 29, 2022 — Wichita State Staff Senate is supporting neighboring schools and the Wichita community by collecting school supplies for local youth organizations. All donations must be submitted by Aug. 10. The donations will go to two businesses: ICT Launchpad, a youth organization, and 3 Keys Fitness, a business that has partnered with local youth group Equity Initiative. 

July 28, 2022 — The next KMUW Literary Feast will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17 at KMUW. Dinner will be provided by Public. Literary Feast is KMUW's monthly book club, featuring selections made by KMUW staff. For August, the staff has selected "River of the Gods: Genius, Courage, and Betrayal in the Search for the Source of the Nile" by Candice Millard.

July 27, 2022 — Nick Elam, educator and inventor of what is known as the Elam Ending in basketball, will speak at Wichita State University at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 23 in 231 Hubbard Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
