Campus Recreation is putting on its annual Wellness Expo from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 in the Heskett Center Gymnasium.

This event is open to everyone with over 70 vendors with prizes, merchandise and wellness tips/screenings. Looking to be a vendor? Contact Beth Albers at beth.albers@wichita.edu.

Student Health Services (SHS) is hosting its next Pee for Pizza event from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the Student Wellness Center in the Steve Clark YMCA.

Pee for Pizza is a sexual health awareness event that allows participants to test for sexually transmitted illnesses such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV and hepatitis C and know their status at no additional charge. Pizza is also provided to participants.

Co-sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Positive Direction and Shocker Sports Grill and Lanes, Pee for Pizza is by reservation only. No walk-ins will be accepted. Participants must not use the restroom at least one hour before testing.

Jason Bosch

Dr. Jason Bosch, the assistant dean for student success in the College of Engineering and the president of the University Staff Senate, has accepted a new position at the Kansas Leadership Center. A farewell reception to recognize the distinguished service of Dr. Bosch is planned from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 5 in 142 Rhatigan Student Center, Harvest Room. WSU staff and faculty are encouraged to attend.

Women of WSU invites the campus community to come and play one, two or three games of bingo at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in 233 Rhatigan Student Center, Santa Fe Trail Room. Choose to play up to three cards per game, and each card is $5. Prizes include a bowling party with popcorn and a drink for eight people.

Players may bring their lunch or purchase a lunch for $14. All proceeds go to fund scholarships for Wichita State students.

The RSC hosts Monday Melodies on the last Monday of every month.

The FAFSA Tour is coming to the Office of Online & Adult Learning from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 in Grace Wilkie Annex. Visit with your laptop and all needed materials, which can be found on the FAFSA webpage (wichita.edu/fafsa) to get help in your completion of the new 2024-25 FAFSA form.

Join Zach Gearhart, chief of staff and executive director of government relations, for updates on the Kansas legislature relevant to Wichita State. The next meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26 in 101 Morrison Hall.

The meeting is open to all faculty, staff and students and is held every other Friday in Morrison Hall following each legislative session.

The Elliott School of Communication, with the Kansas Professional Chapter of Professional Journalists, will host a screening of the Wichita Eagle documentary “Unwarranted: The Senseless Death of Journalist Joan Meyer” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 in the CAC Theater followed by a panel discussion.

Jeff Jarman, director of the Elliott School, will be the moderator for the panel with guests:

  • Jaime Green, visual journalist with the Wichita Eagle
  • Travis Heying, visual journalist with the Wichita Eagle
  • Eric Meyer, editor and publisher for the Marion County Record
  • Emily Bradbury, executive director in the Kansas Press Association
