Join the Society of Women Engineers collegiate and professional sections for a resume Workshop 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 314 Rhatigan Student Center. For the event, participants should bring copies of their resume and come ready to learn helpful tips that will improve their resume before the next career fair.

Register your team for Big Pink Volleyball by Oct. 14. The match will take place at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the Heskett Center.

Big Pink Volleyball is a fundraiser hosted by Campus Activities and Recreation. Teams competing in Shocktoberfest will receive points for top three finishes. This event is open to all students, faculty, staff and the public. Register at the link below.

NetApp will host an E-waste and shredding event 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at its location on Wichita State’s Innovation Campus. The event is open to all students, faculty, staff and innovation partners. During the event, participants can bring the following items:

• Personal documents accepted for secure shredding
• All personal electronics, including appliances
• Secure data destruction for e-waste (hard drive shredder)
• On-site assistance available for larger loads

The Shocker Neighborhood Coalition has partnered with Bike Walk Wichita and its neighbors in Fairmount Neighborhood to meet every Saturday morning at 8 a.m. for a 1.5- to 2-mile walk on the Redbud Trail beginning at Fairmount Park located at the corner of 15th and Gentry streets.

Dogs are welcome if they are on a leash and can walk alongside people and other dogs without any issue. Dog owners must also clean up any waste from their pets.

The next physics seminar will take place at 2 p.m. Oct. 5 at 128 Jabara Hall and via Zoom. The seminar will feature George Gollin, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign professor, who will give a talk titled “When It’s Time for a Late-Career Pivot: Now it’s My Circus, Now they’re My Monkeys.”

WSU faculty and staff are invited to the Grand Opening Celebration of Woolsey Hall at 2:30 p.m. today, Sept. 30 at Woolsey Hall.

During the event, special remarks from President Rick Muma, WSU Foundation President Elizabeth King, Barton School of Business Dean Larisa Genin and other notable speakers will be broadcast via a YouTube livestream.

Following the remarks, an open house will take place until 4 p.m.

Wichita State’s Pre-Law Student Association will host Washburn Law School’s Director of Admissions Priscilla Samarripa 5:30-630 p.m. Oct. 12 at 258 Rhatigan Student Center. Wichita State Dining Services will participate in the Joyful Fall Festiful 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Shocker Dining. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.

During the event, Reverie Roasters, WSU Catering and other vendors will be featured. The event will also include fall favorite foods and drinks like hot cider and cocoa. Activities will include pumpkin tic-tac-toe, pumpkin ring toss and a mini pumpkin patch.

Please join the staff of the Rhatigan Student Center (RSC) for a retirement party for Kay Doubrava 3-5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at 266 RSC. Doubrava is retiring after 28 years of service to the RSC’s Finance Office.

University Libraries’ Patent amd Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) will host a vareity of virtual workshops during October. These workshops will include the following:

• 2022 Hispanic Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program: Learn free and valuable resources available to Hispanic inventors and entrepreneurs 1-4 p.m. Oct. 12.
• Blockchain and IP Series: USC 101 Patent Eligibility in Blockchain: This event will feature a lively discussion regarding patent eligibility within the inventive blockchain space 4-5 p.m. Oct. 18.
