Please join us for a public lecture by Dr. Michasel Jablonski, professor of mathematics at the University of Oklahoma. The lecture, titled “Growing more isometries by improving shape,” will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 in 372 Jabara Hall. Refreshments will be available at 2:30 p.m. in room 353 Jabara Hall.

WSU’s Freshman Leadership Council is holding Coco Fun Time from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 7. The entire campus community is invited to drink hot chocolate and build a graham cracker house. This is a good opportunity to have some fun and relax before finals.

Evolutionary epidemiologist Dr. Rob Wallace will speak as part of the Disaster Resilience Analytics Center from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 via Zoom.

Wallace works at the Agroecology and Rural Economics Research Corps. He is the author of “Big Farms Make Big Flu” and the forthcoming “The Fault in Our SARS: COVID-19 in the Biden Era.” He has co-authored a number of technical volumes, including Neoliberal Ebola: Modeling Disease Emergence from Finance to Forest and Farm and Clear-Cutting Disease Control: Capital-Led Deforestation, Public Health Austerity, and Vector-Borne Infection. He has consulted for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN.

Come celebrate the accomplishments of the Hispanic American Leadership Organization and its members for a baile (or dance) from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Marcus Welcome Center. Enjoy light snacks and a live band performance.

The next WSU Physics Seminar Series talk will feature WSU’s own Jarred Novak at 2 p.m. Nov. 30 in 128 Jabara Hall. Novak’s talk is titled “Nudar, A Neutrino Directional Sensitive Detector.”

Head to the Heskett Center on Dec. 2 and compete individually or on a team of four as you test yourself across 10 stations. Complete as many reps as possible to be champion and earn some awesome prizes.

Test yourself across 10 stations, 45 seconds of work, and 15 seconds of rest. Stations include rowing, bench hop, push-up knee tuck, lateral hop, box jump and burpee, pull-ups, squat press, Russian twist, dead ball over-the-shoulder throw, and sprint and lateral hop.
