School of Performing Arts hosts feature film, ‘Compendium’

The Wichita State School of Performing Arts presents, “Compendium,” an anthology with four short films making up the bill at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 in Welsbacher Theatre. Each short film is set in an imagined world “where time and space collide into the uncertain threads of the future.”

Tickets are available for $10, and students with a Shocker ID can get in at no additional charge.

WSU’s Theatre Program produced “Compendium: as part of its season this year. The show was produced by Bret Jones, theatre professor and program coordinator of acting for digital arts. It is a collaborative project between the theatre and filmmaking departments. Three of the scripts were written by WSU Filmmaking students with the fourth being written by Jones.

The film features a cast of WSU student actors, including Carson Ediger, Emily Redfield, Ella Kempker, Drew Thomas, Renae Richmond, Steven Soetjoadi, Hayley Longacre, Ian Moore, Jo Smith, Ashley Grega, Morgan Holcomb and Trevor Andreason. And it also features a crew of WSU filmmaking students, including Mason Love, Ashlynn Farney, David Maher, Lainey Caldwell, Alyssa Pfeifer, Luke Schroeder, Molly Bazar, Triston Noler, Garrison Ummel, Jonathan Stanger, Jordan Devoy, Madalynn Wilson, Zachary McGuire, Zakary Aaron, Sofia Witt, Pablo Prado, Alicia Santos, Gregory Vieyra. Student Writers: Jesse Nightingale, Jillian Terrell, and Tina Truong. Student Directors: Mason Vietti, Jesse Nightingale.
