In honor of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Oct. 20, Student Health Services (SHS) will accept unused or expired medications from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 5-20 at the Student Wellness Center.

The event is part of the National Drug Enforcement Administration program to prevent drug misuse or abuse of prescription and over-the-counter medications and is co-sponsored by the Wichita State University Police Department.

WSU’s Public Relations Student Society of America will be hosting its Semester Kickoff. Come and go from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Oct. 5 in 225 Elliott Hall.

Join Wichita State’s Prevention Ambassadors for a Notes of Purple concert at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at the CAC Theater. Notes of Purple features Borvh and Hunter Gromala. Join your fellow Shockers for music, games, and resources.

The Tornado Alley Press is having a fall print sale 1-4 p.m. Oct. 13-14 in the RSC. There will be multiple prints by different artists. If you are interested in meeting guild members and getting more information, check out our table. Cash and card purchases will be accepted.

Don’t be scared. It’s just Fright Night! Join Campus Activities & Recreation (CAR) for a spooktacular time as we turn the Heskett Center into a house of haunts from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. If fright is not your kind of fun, enjoy snacks, games, and activities throughout the evening.

A glow yoga class starts at 7 p.m., and the remainder of the activities begin at 8 p.m.

Humans vs. Zombies is a game of tag played on campuses and in communities worldwide. Human players must remain vigilant and defend themselves with socks to avoid being tagged by a growing zombie horde.

Participants must register to play. All players must attend a rules and fair play meeting at 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10. At the meeting, players will receive a game card and orange bandanas. These items are essential to gameplay. During the meeting, two or three zombies will be introduced, all other players remain human until they fall prey to the zombies.

Gameplay will take place beginning at 6 a.m. on Tuesday and will conclude with a campus mission at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. Visit the registration link for full rules and information concerning gameplay. Registration will close at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The upcoming Savvy Scholars workshop focuses on finding social data and is meant to unlock a wealth of social data to better understand demographic groups, large populations, and pressing social issues.
