More than 2,400 students are eligible to participate in Wichita State University’s 126th spring commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11 in Charles Koch Arena. There will be three ceremonies to celebrate the graduates:

• 9 a.m. — Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Fine Arts, Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College, and the College of Innovation and Design. The featured speaker will be Shawn Chastain, executive coordinator of fine arts for Wichita Public Schools.
• 1 p.m. — The College of Applied Studies and the College of Health Professions, with featured speaker Marshall Cho, who is a coach, educator and community builder.
• 5 p.m. — The W. Frank Barton School of Business and the College of Engineering, with featured speaker Tanvir Arfi, who is CEO and founder of the Banyan Technologies Group.

All graduates will walk across the stage and be individually recognized. Doctoral candidates will be hooded at the ceremony.

Faculty/staff needing any type of accommodations or assistance during Wichita State’s spring 2024 commencement can contact Crissy Magee, WSU’s ADA/504 coordinator, at 316-978-3205.

Please provide at least three days notice prior to the event if you need accommodations.

Spring 2024 graduates may find information regarding their diplomas on the Registrar’s Office webpage (wichita.edu/diplomas). 

• The deadline to submit a name change on diplomas is the last day of classes, May 2.
• The diploma distribution date for the spring 2024 semester is July 1. Diplomas can be picked up at the transcript window on the first floor of Jardine Hall, and graduates must show identification.
• Graduates can request to have the diploma mailed to them for a fee through myWSU under the myClasses tab, clicking “Graduation Links” and “Request for Diploma Mailing.”
• Undergraduate students who wish to take courses after graduation need to reactivate their record after receiving their diploma.

Students can represent their home country during commencement with various stoles from the Rhatigan Student Center Shocker Store.

See the selection of countries the Shocker Store can special order stoles for. Special order stoles take approximately two weeks to be delivered.

All spring and summer 2024 eligible graduates must RSVP for commencement by April 12. Spring 2024 commencement will take place Saturday, May 11.

Students with an application for degree on file should have received an email from Marching Order instructing them how to RSVP.

If you are graduating this spring, visit the Shocker Store during one of its Grad Days. CB Grad/Balfour will be in-house to help with ordering graduation announcements, nursing and dental hygiene pins, class rings and more.

Simply stop by between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 19 or 20 at the Rhaitgan Student Center location.

Shockers graduating in May can bundle their regalia items and save through April 26.

The Shocker Store offers regalia bundles for bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctorate degrees. Visit the RSC store or the “graduation” tab on the Shocker Store website for specific pricing and details.

The Shocker Store is taking regalia rental orders and custom academic regalia purchase orders from faculty and staff members who are planning on attending spring 2024 commencement.

Regalia rental orders are due by 4 p.m. Friday, April 5 and custom academic regalia purchase orders need to be placed by 4 p.m. Friday, March 1.

Graduating students, if you are a member of any of the listed groups below and would like to order the group’s corresponding graduation stole, pre-orders must be completed by March 15 on the Shocker Store website.

Groups included are Shocker Bowling, Japanese Culture Association, University Innovation Fellows, Dental Hygiene, Medical Laboratory Sciences, BS in Nursing or SOSW (Student Organization of Social Work).

Through Dec. 1, Shockers graduating in December can bundle their regalia items and save. The Shocker Store offers regalia bundles for Shockers graduating with their bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctorate degrees.
