The spring 2023 commencement ceremonies will be held May 13, and the deadline to RSVP is April 25.

  • 9 a.m. – Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Fine Arts, Dorothy & Bill Cohen Honors College, and College of Innovation and Design
  • 1 p.m. – College of Applied Studies and College of Health Professions
  • 5 p.m. – W. Frank Barton School of Business and College of Engineering

Graduating students who are members of one of the groups listed below and would like to order a graduation stole must pre-order them by Friday, March 24 on the Shocker Store.

The groups with available stoles:

  • Shocker Bowling
  • Japanese Culture Association
  • University Innovation Fellows
  • Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Student Organization of Social Work.

The spring 2023 commencement ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 13 at Charles Koch Arena. This ceremony includes summer 2023 graduates. All spring and summer undergraduates intending to walk in the ceremony must file their Application for Degree (AFD) no later than Wednesday, March 1.

Almost 1,300 students are eligible to participate in Wichita State University’s 125th fall commencement ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18 in Charles Koch Arena.

All graduates will walk across the stage and be individually recognized. Doctoral candidates will be hooded at this ceremony.

Dr. Mona Nemer will receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Philosophy. An honorary degree is an exceptional honor bestowed upon a person without fulfillment of the usual requirements. It is conferred only upon persons of notable intellectual, scholarly, professional, creative achievement or service to humanity consistent with the endeavors of WSU.

Celebrate your graduation with a photo booth sponsored by the Commencement Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 in the Lancelot Room of the RSC (room 203).

Grads and friends can get their photos taken, create a GIF and have it instantly delivered via email or text. Props and regalia will be provided.

Wichita State will be enforcing a clear-bag policy for all graduates, guests, volunteers, faculty and staff at the commencement ceremonies.

The following outlines bags that are permitted:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 14x6x14 inches
  • One-gallon clear plastic storage bags (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small clutch or purse, with or without a handle or strap, that does not exceed 5.5×7.5 inches

Military veteran and veteran-related students can now pick up their fall graduation cords at the Military Veteran Center in Room 105 of Grace Wilkie Hall or Room 402 of the Dole Education Center on McConnell AFB.
