On Oct. 19, Amazon will be hosting an in-person hiring event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is co-hosted by Veterans Upward Bound and Vocational Rehab at the Robert J. Dole VA.

Everyone on campus is welcome to attend; however, the first hour will be dedicated to veterans only. The hiring event will be located in 265 Rhatigan Student Center (the Lucas Room).

The Wichita State AmeriCorps Fellows team has nearly two dozen service positions for graduates and part-time students in Wichita and across Kansas beginning in May. In these positions, students earn a stipend, have an opportunity for an education award after service, and qualify to apply for a $2,000 WSU scholarship after a year of service.

The service positions include teaching children to read, helping with local community gardens, assisting with a variety of office tasks, coordinating volunteers, writing grants for nonprofits, and a variety of other tasks.

Walmart representatives will be available to discuss their College to Career Program and their 10-week Summer Intern Program (which pays $25 per hour) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 6 on the first floor of the RSC.

The first 100 students who visit their table will receive a free slice of pizza. Walmart representatives will also be available after the event to discuss more details and talk to interested students.

The program begins in June 2022 and includes two years of ongoing leadership development program with a competitive salary of up to $70,000 per year, a compensation reward every six months, tailored training and exposure to total store, comprehensive benefits — including health coverage (subject to eligibility conditions and plan terms), and a rotating work schedule.

Just in time for the end of the semester, the Shocker Career Accelerator presents the Virtual Just-In-Time Career Fair 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 13.

This fair is for all majors at Wichita State. Students can chat with employers from the Wichita metro area, across Kansas, and nationally who are hiring for internships, part-time and full-time positions. Students can register for the event, one-on-one sessions, and group sessions at the link below.
