Get ready for a major upgrade. Shocker Career Accelerator is moving to a brand-new jobs platform in July.

It’s pumped about the new system but doesn’t want you to miss out on all the job postings, employer-hosted virtual events and other tools you have on Handshake right now.

Head over to Handshake and update your password. This will keep your current profile active and ensure you don’t lose access to these benefits. Learn more about updating your information.

Shocker Career Accelerator has been working on the system weekly and expects to launch Shocker Central in July. Shocker Career Accelerator will inform students how the system works and provide instructions on how to set up your new profile soon.

From 12:30 to 2 p.m. Monday, April 29, head to the second floor of the Rhatigan Student Center for the Social and Behavioral Sciences Career Fair. The fair is the perfect opportunity for students to network with hiring employers and discover exciting job prospects.

This event is hosted by the School of Social Work and the Shocker Career Accelerator.

Explore exciting opportunities in corrections, law enforcement, forensic science and more at the Criminal Justice Career Fair from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 26 on the third floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

Join the Shocker Career Accelerator for the Virtual Engineering Job Fair from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 28. The fair is for any student interested in the engineering and technology industries. Come chat with employers from the Wichita metro area, Kansas and nationally.

Are you eager to begin your career in the healthcare industry? Join the Shocker Career Accelerator from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 on the third floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

The Health Professions Career Fair is a chance to connect with top employers and explore exciting job opportunities in your field of study. Meet with industry leaders in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, healthcare administration and more.

Don’t miss this chance to jumpstart your future. Dress professionally, bring copies of your resume and be ready to make lasting connections. Business dress is recommended, but scrubs are welcome if you are coming from labs or clinical.

Join the Department of Geology and the student Geology Club from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8 in 266 Rhatigan Student Center, Pike Room to connect with companies in environmental sciences showcasing current and future job openings and internships at the Environmental Science Career Expo.

The expo is open to students across the university.

Organizations and companies planning to attend include: Enertech, GSI, Kansas Corporation Commission, Kansas Department of Health and the Environment, Kansas Department of Transportation, Kansas Geological Survey, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, SCS, TerraCon, Textron and US Geological Survey.

The Department of Geology, and certificate programs in environment and sustainability, and Geographic Information Systems will also be in attendance for any students interested in program opportunities.

This is an opportunity for students of all degree levels, class levels and majors to explore various career options.
