Plan ahead for adjusted fall break hours

Shockers, remember that WSU’s fall break starts this Saturday, Oct. 10 and continues through Tuesday, Oct. 13. During this time, classes will not be in session, and some services may have altered hours. Classes resume Wednesday, Oct. 14.

As always, the University Police Department will still work as normal. UPD is available at 316-978-3450. The blue light emergency phones on campus will also connect you to UPD.

Housing and Residence Life front desk staff will operate their normal business hours during fall break to assist students with services like mail, lock outs and emergencies. Call the following numbers to contact the front desk for the respective buildings:

Shocker Hall: 316-978-3386
The Flats: 316-978-3320
The Suites: 316-978-6600

Student Health Services and Counseling and Psychological Services are both operating during their normal hours over fall break.

The Rhatigan Student Center and its establishments will be closed Sunday, Oct. 11 and the RSC will have shortened hours, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Oct. 12 and 13. Review the following hours for Oct. 12 and 13:

Starbucks: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Shocker Sports Grill and Lanes: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Panda Express: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Chick-fil-A: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Freddy’s: Closed
Sushi-Do: Closed

Shocker Dining Hall will have lunch from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 10-13.

Additional support will be available at the Kiah Duggins Shocker Support Locker, which will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on both Oct. 12 and 13.

Labor Day is coming up Monday, Sept. 7, Shockers, and that means classes will not be in session, and certain services on campus will have adjusted hours.

Shocker Dining Hall will have limited hours, lunch from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m., and the Market at Groundhouse be open 7-10 a.m. and 8-10 p.m.

Shocker Career Accelerator will be closed part of the day Sept. 18 for Engineering & IT Career Fair

The Shocker Career Accelerator will be closed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 18 to host the Engineering & IT Career Fair.

Encourage your students to attend the career fair from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 on the third floor of the Rhatigan Student Center. Students will have the chance to connect with employers offering internships, co-ops and full-time positions in engineering and information technology.

Strategic Communications will be temporarily closed Sept. 5 for staff development

The Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing in Morrison Hall will be closed for staff development Friday, Sept. 5. The office will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8.

Degree Works will be down for scheduled maintenance part of Aug. 27

Degree Works will be unavailable due to planned maintenance from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27. During this time degree audits and SEP plans will be unavailable. If you need access to audits during the outage, plan ahead by creating PDF files. Contact Sally Fiscus in the Registrar’s Office at 316-978-7279 with questions.
