WWSU Members Event with date and location

Join Women of Wichita State University (WWSU) for a social event beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Social Tap. Current, new, and prospective members are welcome. WWSU is an organization that serves the interests of the university by providing scholarships to WSU students and fostering a sense of community through the spirit of friendliness and support.

The Women of Wichita State University (WWSU ) has awarded four students a $1,000 scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year. The scholarships will go to the following students:

  • Juliana Botero Echeverri, graduate student in business
  • Maria Aracely Martinez Gonzalez, undergraduate student studying real estate and sports management
  • Hilda Uloma Onuoha, undergraduate student in nursing
  • Meghan Wald, graduate student in special music education.

The WWSU was formed in fall 2018 by the combination of two groups; the Wichita State University Women’s Association, founded in 1928, and the Council of University Women founded in 1930. The purpose of the group is to serve the interests of the university, to provide student scholarships and to promote social interaction and a sense of community among its members.

The Women of Wichita State University (WWSU) is now accepting applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. Applications will be accepted until May 31.

WWSU was formed in fall 2018. The group serves the interests of the University, provides student scholarships, promotes social interaction, and a sense of community among its members.

The Wichita State Wind Ensemble Concert, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 11, has been canceled. The WSU Symphonic Band will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15 at the Miller Concert Hall. WSU students may receive one free ticket with their WSU ID.

The WuChoir and ShockerChoir concert, originally scheduled for Oct. 7, has been rescheduled to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 at Wiedemann Hall.

Tickets for the Oct. 7 concert will be honored Oct. 14. Wichita State students can receive one free ticket with their WSU ID, or purchase tickets 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the College of Fine Arts Box Office located in the Duerksen Fine Arts Center. Tickets can also be purchased online.

The Women of Wichita State University will host a social event at 5 p.m. Sept. 30 at Social Tap located in Braeburn Square. Current members, new members and prospective members are invited to attend.

Women of Wichita State University Membership Drive September 9, 2021

Women of Wichita State University invite all female-identifying persons, who are current faculty and staff or spouses of WSU faculty and staff to join, and active retirees with the university to retain or renew their membership. Come find out about us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 9 in the RSC Gridley Room. Light snacks will be served.
