Shocker Career Accelerator invites offices, departments and colleges to attend the On-Campus Job Fair from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 14 on the third floor of the Rhatigan Student Center for an opportunity to hire talented student employees for the 2024-25 academic year.

By joining the fair, you can showcase your available student assistant and graduate assistant positions to Wichita State students. Register before Aug. 9.

The Shocker Career Accelerator has shared its annual report for the 2022-23 academic year.

Here are a few things the report highlights:

• Launched the new Career Ready Journey
• Curated 131 learning experiences
• Equipped 865 students for career success with professional attire
• Facilitated 1,770 career ready appointments
• Connected 3,340 students at career fairs and events
• Reviewed 7,692 documents
• Empowered 8,219 students in applied learning
• Supported the submission of 55,185 applications through Handshake

The Shocker Career Accelerator is excited to announce that it will host the Fairmount College Career Fair Thursday, Feb. 15. In preparation for the career fair, note that the office will be temporarily closed from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the day of the fair.

Shocker Career Accelerator invites students to take part in this opportunity, which will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 15 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center. The event is a fantastic chance for students to engage and network with over 30 employers.

The Shocker Career Accelerator is pleased to welcome Julie Sanders as its new employer relations account manager. In this role, Julie will identify and cultivate relationships with organizations across sectors, bridging the gap between businesses in alignment with the university’s overall mission and vision and focusing on the workforce needs of the many industries in Wichita and nationally.

One crucial element in her role will be collaborating with WSU’s internal departments to align students with applied learning opportunities. She connects entities with the appropriate resources and facilitates workforce solutions for partnered employers.

The Shocker Career Accelerator will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6 for a staff retreat.

The Shocker Career Accelerator office will temporarily close its doors from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 to facilitate hosting the Engineering & IT Career Fair.

Faculty and staff can encourage students to participate in the Engineering & IT Career Fair from 2 to 5 p.m. on the third floor of the Rhatigan Student Center. The event will give students a unique opportunity to engage with over 65 employers.

The Shocker Career Accelerator office will temporarily close its doors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 for the hosting of the Fine Arts Career Mixer.

Encourage students to attend the Fine Arts Career Mixer from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the McKnight Art Center Lobby. Students can network with 20 employers who work in creative industries.

The Shocker Career Accelerator office will temporarily close its doors from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30. The closure is to facilitate the hosting of the Career Connection Root Beer Kegger.

Encourage students to partake in the festivities of the Career Connection Root Beer Kegger from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Hubbard Hall Lawn. The event promises Wichita State students a unique opportunity to engage with over 50 employers, all while enjoying ice-cold root beer and hot dogs.

Don’t miss the opportunity to hire talented student employees for the 2023-24 academic year. Shocker Career Accelerator invites offices and departments to participate in the upcoming On-Campus Job Fairs:

• 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 28
• 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25

By joining the fairs, departments can showcase their available student assistant and graduate assistant positions, attracting motivated individuals to contribute to the team. The event also serves as a chance to welcome students to the campus’ dynamic environment.

Space is limited, so secure a spot promptly. Registration for the first job fair is due Friday, July 21. To register and reserve a table, complete the registration. There is no registration fee for this event.
