Fall 2025 Study Abroad Application; Scholarship & Application deadlines: February 15th

Students have many options for study abroad programs through WSU exchange partner universities and program providers. If you are interested in studying abroad, the deadline to apply for fall 2025 programs is Feb. 15.

You can start the process by attending a study abroad information session. Study Abroad scholarships are available and that application is also due by Feb. 15.

Study Abroad Information Session; Come explore your study abroad options by attending our last information session of the semester!  When & Where: Friday November 15th at 2 p.m. in RSC 356 Edmiston Room

Are you interested in studying abroad? The Study Abroad office will have its last in-person study abroad information session of the semester Nov. 15.

The first step to study abroad would be to attend one of the information sessions or watch an info session video. The last study abroad information session of the fall semester will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 in 256 Rhatigan Student Center, Edmiston Room.

Summer 2025 Paraguay Honors Service-Learning Travel Seminar Study Abroad Program Information Session; Open to both undergraduate and graduate students! When: Thursday, October 24th at 4:30 p.m.; Where: RSC room 265

Are you interested in studying abroad for summer 2025? The Study Abroad office will offer the Paraguay Honors Service-Learning Program in May/June 2025 as a two-week, faculty-led program that is open to all undergraduate and graduate students. Students who would like to learn more about the program should attend an information session at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 in 265 Rhatigan Student Center, Lucas Room.

Study Abroad has travel seminar scholarships available for the program that can cover most costs for students with high financial need. For questions, contact Study Abroad at studyabroad@wichita.edu.

Are you interested in studying abroad in summer 2025? Study Abroad is offering the London Travel Seminar in May 2025 as a faculty-led program open to all undergraduate and graduate students. To learn more, attend an information session at 1 p.m. Oct. 18 in 500 Lindquist Hall.

Scholarships are available to help cover part of the program cost for students with high financial need.

Did you know that staff and faculty can also participate in study abroad travel seminars? Whether you would like to participate for the credit toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree or just for the international experience, staff and faculty can also participate in these programs, however they must be enrolled in at least one credit hour for the program during summer 2025.

Paraguay is one of Study Abroad’s top countries at Wichita State for international students and the country that it receives the most students from for Latin America. Join this program and learn more about Paraguay, it’s culture and the partnership between the state of Kansas and Paraguay that has existed for over 50 years through a service-learning program.

Students can now begin planning for summer 2025 study-abroad programs, including travel seminars. Scholarships of up to $3,500 are available, based on financial need. For the Paraguay travel seminar, students may receive funding that covers nearly the entire cost, including flight, program fees and tuition. Visit our website for detailed information on all travel seminars and instructions on how to apply for scholarships. Stop by the study-abroad table in the RSC from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 for candy, freebies, and information on the opportunities available to Wichita State students. 

Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship Session; Thursday September 19th from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in RSC room 262 Presenters: Ann Burger, Associate Director for Study Abroad & Exchange Programs and Tais Solis, Gilman Scholarship Recipient & Gilman Ambassador; Join this session to learn more about the Gilman scholarship and get advice on that process including the essays.

Students interested in studying abroad in 2025 or beyond should plan to attend a session from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 in 262 Rhatigan Student Center, Herrman Room, to learn more about the Gilman Scholarship and the application process.

There will be past Gilman Scholarship recipient, Tais Solis, presenting and sharing tips from her experience. During the session, students will learn more about the application process and have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback on their essays for the Gilman application. Gilman study abroad scholarship amounts are up to $5,000 each for eligible students (must be receiving a Pell grant).

Study Abroad Fair on Wednesday, October 2nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the RSC 1st floor

The annual Study Abroad Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center. Come to learn more about study abroad programs, scholarships and more.

There will be over 20 tables set up with information and have students on hand to share about their experiences. For those who attend, they can be entered to win prizes, including study abroad scholarships. For questions, contact Study Abroad at studyabroad@wichita.edu.
