Stop by Study Abroad’s table from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center to learn more about study abroad programs and pick up some free goodies in celebration of Earth Day.

Study Abroad is excited to announce that WSU has a new exchange partner university in Chile available for study abroad programs.

Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI) has two campuses located in Viña del Mar and Santiago. WSU students can study abroad at UAI for a semester, yearlong or summer programs.

Exchange partnerships allow students to pay their regular WSU tuition fees while on exchange. They offer some courses taught in English as well as many programs in Spanish and Spanish-language courses.

The new partnership officially begins for spring 2025. The deadline to apply for spring study abroad programs will be Sept. 15.

Students who are interested in studying abroad over the next winter break can start planning now and look at the options available in many different countries.

Programs are generally three weeks long during the month of January. Areas of study include environmental studies, international business, music, religion, art history, photography, language, psychology, sociology and more.

Costs range from $2,000 to $6,290 (includes most fees for the programs except for the flight).

Study Abroad Information Session; Come visit us for our final information session of the semester!  Friday, April 5th at 2 p.m. RSC 265 Lucas Room

Students interested in studying abroad can register to attend an information session or watch the info session video. The last study abroad information session of the spring semester will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 5 in 265 Rhatigan Student Center, Lucas Room.

Fall 2024 Study Abroad Scholarship and application deadline: February 15, 2024

Students have many options for study abroad programs through Wichita State’s exchange partner universities and program providers, and Friday, Feb. 15 is the deadline for fall 2024 programs.

Students can start the process by attending a study abroad information session or watching our video. Study Abroad scholarships are available, and those applications are also due by Feb. 15.

Study Abroad Summer 2024; Most deadlines February 1, 2024; Scholarships Available!

Interested in studying abroad? Many options for summer 2024 are still available, however most deadlines will be by Feb. 1. Find the many options on the Study Abroad website for short-term/summer programs.

Some programs are for specific majors/minors, to learn a language, general education classes or open to all students. Scholarships are also still available for summer 2024 and will be reviewed on a rolling basis until March 1. For questions, email studyabroad@wichita.edu.

Summer 2024 Paraguay Service Learning study abroad program

Students will have the opportunity to learn from locals and learn more about Paraguayan culture and about South America through observing in a nonprofit during the Paraguay Honors Travel Seminar for Service Learning.

The program will be from June 9 to 22, 2024 with a group of students traveling to Paraguay and enrolling HNRS 398 for one or three credit hours. The program and course is open to any Wichita State student and geared towards students in the Honors College.

This program is eligible for travel seminar scholarships up to $2,000 each. Students who are in the Honors College can apply for the Cohen Enhancement scholarships for up to $4,000 each. The total cost of the program including flights, housing, meals and tuition fees will be under $4,000.

Study Abroad Fair 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 10th at RSC 1st floor

Come to learn more about study abroad programs, scholarships and more at the annual Study Abroad Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

There will be over 20 tables set up with information and students will be on hand to share info about their experiences. Those who attend can be entered to win prizes, including study abroad scholarships.
