Interstellar Seminar is fortunate to host Kansas native Todd Barber, a JPL engineer that drives spacecraft, at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 24 remotely in 104 Jabara Hall and on Zoom. He will talk about his experiences driving Voyager, the only interstellar spacecraft.

Barber has worked with Galileo at Jupiter, Cassini at Saturn, Deep Impact, Dawn and the Mars missions that landed Opportunity, Curiosity and Perseverance.

Mindfulness and Meditation Every Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 1:20 pm in Shocker Hall A Multipurpose Room

Shockers are invited to join Mindfulness and Meditation at 1 p.m. every Wednesday in the multi-purpose room in Shocker Hall A, across from the front desk.

Mindfulness is focusing one’s awareness on the present moment by intentionally noticing one’s thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations without any judgement.

These sessions offer various meditation exercises designed to develop mindfulness and promote holistic wellness. Follow Counseling and Psychological Services on Instagram, Facebook and X for more content.

The Wichita Business Journal has released the 2024 “Coolest Office in Wichita” nominations, and Woolsey Hall has been nominated. The community can vote once for their choice through the voting period until 5 p.m. Friday Jan. 26.

Arrive early to the Shocker women’s basketball game against UAB at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 to learn all the popular cheers and chants featured at Shocker games. Shock Block student leaders, cheer, dance and the WSU pep band will teach students the Alma Mater, Fight Song and other popular Shocker cheers. Pizza and Shocker shirts will be provided while supplies last. Arrive by 4:30 p.m. to Charles Koch Koch Arena and enter through the ticket office. WSU students can receive a ticket at no additional charge with their Shocker ID.

If you are not able to make it to the game, join again at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 Shocker men’s basketball against UTSA.

Join the Ulrich Museum of Arts for the Ulrich Spring 2024 Exhibition Opening Celebration from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Ulrich.
