Attend Annual Religion Lecture Oct. 3

For this year’s Annual Religion Lecture, the History Department at Wichita State will host University of Kansas lecturer Dr. Rachel Schwaller at 7 p.m. Oct. 3 on the first floor of the Ablah Library C-Space. This lecture is free and open to the public.

Schwaller’s talk, titled “Godly Reading Before Breakfast: Evangelical Magazines in the Shaping of American Life,” Schwaller will speak about Evangelical denominational magazines and how they were written to be read devotionally. These magazines provide a profound avenue to ways that Evangelicals structure their lives and their faith.

Another part of the Annual Religion Lecture will take place earlier the same day and will include the panel discussion “Before Fairmount College: The “prehistory” of college campuses and why it matters” at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 3 at the Harvest Room located in the Rhatigan Student Center.
