Apply now for the WSU Staff Senate Scholarship

The University Staff Senate has established a scholarship to support the advancement of WSU staff and their dependents. Staff members or their dependents beginning or continuing their first bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply. This scholarship can be combined with university Tuition Assistance and other awards and can be used for tuition, books and fees.

Applications for the University Staff Senate Scholarship close Feb. 1, 2026 for the fall 2026 award. For more information and to apply, visit the Staff Senate Scholarship webpage.

Conquer your writing goals at the FARE Faculty research and writing sprint Jan. 14-16

The Office of Faculty Advancement, Retention, and Excellence (FARE) is hosting a research and writing sprint for faculty from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 14-16, 2026 at Wichita State Connect. Before the semester gets crazy, join FARE for some quiet space to write and the camaraderie of your colleagues all crushing their writing goals.

FARE will provide drinks, snacks and lunch on the first day. Faculty can choose from half days or whole days. You say you can only come one day? No problem. Come as you are able to. Contact fare@wichita.edu with any questions.

WSU Foundation and Alumni Engagement year-end deadlines for 2025

As year-end approaches, review the following important deadlines for the WSU Foundation and Alumni Engagement.

Accounts payable:

The Foundation will be closed Dec. 22 through Jan. 2, 2025. All requisitions must be submitted by noon Thursday, Dec, 18 for processing in the current calendar year.

Year-end gifts for 2025 tax credit

Checks without a postmarked envelope: Deliver to the Foundation Finance Office at Woodman Center or Campus Box 2 by 1 p.m. Dec. 31.
Checks with a postmark dated Dec. 31: Must arrive at the Foundation by end of day Monday, Jan. 12, 2025.
Credit/debit card transactions (in-office): Submit by 1 p.m. Dec. 31.
Online bank drafts and credit card gifts: Process until midnight, Dec. 31.
