Enrollment for the summer and fall semesters is now open. View the course schedule and enroll by using Banner and logging in with your myWSU information. In addition to your fall classes, consider enrolling in a summer class. Summer classes are a great option for students because:

They can help you catch up on credits, lighten your fall and spring course loads, or let you graduate sooner.
They are flexible — courses are available in two-, four- or eight-week schedules with online, hybrid and in-person formats.
And they can be supported by financial aid.

Register for Propellus Tech Summit 2025: Free for WSU students, faculty and staff

Education in Kansas is entering a new era, and the Propellus Tech Summit is leading the charge.

Co-hosted by Wichita Public Schools and Wichita State’s College of Applied Studies, the two-day summit (May 28-29 at the Rhatigan Student Center) offers an immersive, future-focused professional development experience for educators at all levels.

Attendees will explore AI tools, platforms like Canva and Adobe, and emerging tech through keynotes, interactive sessions and hands-on workshops. Free registration is available for WSU and USD 259 educators and students. A $100 registration fee applies to all other participants.

Engineering Open House | Friday, May 9 from 9 am to 7 pm at Charles Koch Arena

Attend College of Engineering Open House event at Charles Koch Arena

The College of Engineering invites all to attend its 70th annual Engineering Open House from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 9 at Charles Koch Arena.

Between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., senior engineering and computing students will present prototype solutions throughout the concourse and the Aetna Multi-Purpose Center (practice gymnasium). From the end of student presentations until 7 p.m., there will be light appetizers and refreshments served, as well as an awards ceremony.

Meet a Shocker

Ella Anciaux, College of Applied Studies

Ella Anciaux stayed home to play basketball for the Shockers and major in exercise science. While compiling a cumulative grade-point average of 3.85, she earned American Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference honors twice and a spot on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Hannah Copeland, College of Fine Arts

Hannah Copeland found her calling through years of involvement in WSU’s orchestra programs and youth music clinics. Her most rewarding experience has been student teaching in Wichita Public Schools, and she’s thrilled to continue that journey as the new orchestra teacher at Curtis Middle School.

If you get medications from Student Health, plan ahead to get them refilled before the semester ends or transfer them to a pharmacy where you will be spending the summer. Student Health is here for you all summer, but you may be spending your summer elsewhere.

If you have questions about your prescription or need to make an appointment, contact Student Health via the myShockerhealth portal at wichita.edu/shs or by calling 316-978-4792.

Medication take back is available every day at Student Health

Remember, medication take back is available every day at Student Health. You can bring any unused or expired medication for safe disposal to Student Health Services from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Student Wellness Center in the Steve Clark YMCA.

You can also pickup medication disposal bags to take with you for free at the Student Wellness Center.

Parking and Traffic

Parking advisory for May 29-June 1

WSU will host participants and attendees for state baseball, state softball and state track events starting Thursday, May 29 through Saturday, May 31. These events bring a large amount of visitors to campus and parking will be congested across campus.

Additionally the 2025 Master Gardener Tour will take place near the President’s Residence and Woolsey Hall starting Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1. Attendance is expected to be high for this event as well.

Faculty, staff, students and partners are encouraged to plan accordingly and arrive early if they come to campus during this time frame. Summer parking will be in effect at this time; unless noted with signage, all green lots will be free and open parking.
