Parking and Traffic

Lot 5 and 19W to be closed April 7-8

The east half of Lot 5 and the south end of Lot 19W, the parking lots near Eck Stadium, will be closed Monday, April 7 through Tuesday, April 8 for an event at the stadium. Students that typically park in these lots will need to park in other green lots during this time. The YMCA lot is not available for student or event guest parking and could result in a citation.

The purpose of lot reservations is to help accommodate large groups of guests visiting campus for events or the event itself. Lot reservations are not to be used for WSU affiliates. Remember, visitors to campus can park without an ePermit up to three times each semester.

Red reserved and ADA stalls are not subject to lot closures and proper use is permitted during this time.

Write In elections information for the 2025 SGA General Election. Any member of the association may conduct a write-in campaign for any position to be contested in the General Election. A write-in candidate is defined as a member of the association who publicly announced their candidacy and whose name will not appear on the ballot. Voters will have the option of electronically entering a write-in candidate for each position for which a write-in candidate was filed. The last name must be written on the ballot in order for the vote to be counted.

HealthHum hosts talk on gamification of psychotherapy

Join the Academic Center for Biomedical and Health Humanities (HealthHum) in welcoming Dr. Jacob Armstrong, a WSU alum, for a talk on gamification and psychotherapy at 1 p.m. Friday, April 11 in 326 Lindquist Hall and on Microsoft Teams.

Dr. Armstrong is currently a postdoctoral research associate in the NeuroCognitive Aspects of Anxiety, Trauma and Treatment (NeuroCATT) Laboratory at the Laureate Institute for Brain Research. Learn about how he developed a traditional table top role-playing game (TTT-RPG) for dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), current issues and trends in gamifying clinical practice, and more.

Lecture series in the mathematical sciences presents Dr. Raegan Higgins, Texas Tech University

Join a public lecture by Dr. Raegan Higgins, Texas Tech University at 3 p.m. Friday, April 4 in 372 Jabara Hall. The lecture is titled, “A Time Scales Approach to Prostate Cancer Treatment: Bridging Continuous and Discrete Dynamics.”

Refreshments will be available at 2:30 p.m. in 353 Jabara Hall.

Celebrate National Library Week with sweet treats

Stop by the Ablah Library from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 for a sweet treat in honor of National Library Week. Swing by, grab a snack and celebrate the week.

Ulrich Museum partners with Roxy’s Downtown to present drag brunch in conjunction with Devan Shimoyama exhibition

Join the Ulrich Museum of Arts for a mimosa, brunch and performers from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at Roxy’s Downtown, 412, E. Douglas Ave. The event is in conjunction with “Devan Shimoyama: Rituals,” on view now in the Polk/Wilson Gallery at the Ulrich.

From RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12, the Widow Von’Du is in the house. Riirii, from Kansas City, and Jaharia, from The Boulet Brother’s Dragula, will perform, along with Wichita’s Brown Sugar and Lorelei.

Come early, then kick back and enjoy the entertainment. The Ulrich will also host a panel discussion with the performers, so bring questions with you. Tickets are $42 reserved seating, with a discounted price of $30 for WSU students 18 years old or older with an ID. Limited tickets are still available.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for brunch and drinks, and the program begins at 1 p.m.

Japan Festival springs into 2025

Join the Japanese Cultural Association‘s Japan Festival from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 11 on the second floor of the Rhatigan Student Center for martial arts performance, arts and crafts, games, food and drink, karaoke and more.

The festival will feature food and projects by Japanese students and students in Japanese studies, including specialty baked goods from Komugi Japanese Bakery. The Cosplay Club will join by dressing guests in traditional Japanese yukata as well as a photoshoot. And enjoy special guest martial arts performance by Tora-san and his students.
