You are currently submitting an item to the Academe newsletter, the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing’s twice a semester newsletter highlighting faculty and staff accomplishments.
Submissions must be vetted through a department chair/head, dean or other supervisor, which must be indicated in the “Supervisor/chair” field in your submission.
Brief descriptions of each category:
- Research and Publications: Highlights faculty and staff who have recently published research or articles to journals or other reputable publications.
- Presentations: Highlights faculty and staff who have given presentations or seminars off campus, such as at other universities or at conferences.
- Special Projects: Highlights faculty and staff who have gone above and beyond in a project for the university or the community.
- Welcome to WSU: Highlights faculty and staff who have been hired within the last three months at the time of publication of the newsletter.
- Tenure: Highlights faculty who have recently received tenure.
- Sabbaticals: Highlights faculty who have recently been awarded sabbatical.
- Promotions: Highlights faculty and staff who have recently received promotions at WSU.
- Appointments: Highlights faculty and staff who have recently been appointed to a position in addition to their job at WSU.
- Accolades: Highlights faculty and staff who have been recognized or awarded by a reputable organization.
- Media: Highlights faculty and staff who have provided their expertise to stories in the news, such as newspapers, magazines, web news, TV stations and/or radio stations.
Strategic Communications staff will edit submissions for accuracy, punctuation, grammar, relevance and in accordance with Associated Press Style. Refer to the WSU writing style guide for more information on the university’s guidelines. If we alter a large portion of your content, we will send it back for review to ensure accuracy. All submissions approved by Strategic Communications will run as space allows. Final publication consideration of submissions is at the discretion of Strategic Communications.
