Get prepared to cast your ballots for the 2026 Student Government Association general elections. As with all elections, staying informed matters, so join the presidential and vice presidential debates, moderated by the Sunflower, at 6 p.m. March 26 and April 2 in 223 Rhatigan Student Center, Santa Fe Trail Room and livestreamed on SGA’s YouTube channel.

Do you want to hear more from your student and university leaders about what has been happening this year? Do you want to share your thoughts or concerns on your education and student experience? Attend the virtual Student Government Association (SGA) town hall featuring university administration starting at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2 virtually via the SGA YouTube.

Here, you will get a chance to not only hear from the Student Government Association and the university administration, but you will also have a chance to ask questions over the course of the town hall.

Join the Student Government Association Student Senate for a meeting at 7:30 p.m. today in 233 Rhatigan Student Center, Santa Fe Trail room. Meetings will also be livestreamed on the SGA YouTube.

Where students come first, the Wichita State Student Government Association is the governing entity for the student experience at the university. SGA is charged with promoting and stimulating student participation in the university’s activities and providing an official channel of communication between the students, faculty, staff, administration and elected officials.

The Student Government Association (SGA), in collaboration with the Graduate School and the International Student Union (ISU), is hosting a tax filing workshop to help students better understand the United States tax filing process from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 in 231 Hubbard Hall.

The workshop is open to all students and is especially helpful for international students and graduate students (GTAs/GRAs) who may have additional tax considerations. The session will be led by Dr. Sina Rahimi, Barton School of Business, School of Accountancy, who has extensive experience guiding students through U.S. tax requirements.

Students are encouraged to bring their laptops. No registration required.

RSO WEEK DATE & TIME

The Student Government Association is pleased to announce the upcoming RSO Week the week of Feb. 16, a series of professional development and engagement opportunities designed to support and strengthen Recognized Student Organizations across campus. This initiative aims to equip student leaders and members with essential knowledge, resources and collaborative networks necessary for effective organizational management and successful campus programming.

Throughout the week, specialized sessions will focus on financial management, campus space reservation procedures and strategic marketing and outreach. These workshops will be conducted by experienced student leaders and campus partners to ensure RSOs receive accurate guidance on policies, risk management, and best practices for event planning and recruitment.

  • Tea with Treasurer: 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 in Shocker Hall
  • Reserving Space: Noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18 in 264 Rhatigan Student Center, Spencer Room
  • Marketing Workshop: 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 in 265 RSC, Lucas Room

RSO Week reflects Wichita State’s commitment to fostering leadership, accountability and student involvement beyond the classroom. All RSO officers, members and prospective student leaders are strongly encouraged to participate and take advantage of these valuable learning opportunities.
