President Rick Muma and the President’s Executive Team observed National Employee Appreciation Day March 6 in Woolsey Hall. The WSU Employee Appreciation Day was filled with conversations and food. WuShock also made an appearance to greet employees and take photos.

The event was part of President Muma’s Rick Rewards, a recognition of different departments every month to highlight the work of the Shocker community that betters everyone in Shocker Nation.

President Rick Muma and WuShock stopped by the Student Success and Persistence Coalition’s monthly meeting to recognize the team as the next recipient of Rick Rewards. The team was celebrated for their work in promoting and enhancing WSU’s Student Success and Persistence initiative, which has resulted in large increases in fall-to-fall retention and bolstered overall enrollment.

President Rick Muma stopped by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders to recognize the team as the next recipient of Rick Rewards. The team members were celebrated for the recent successful reaccreditation of the Master of Arts in communication sciences and disorders and Doctor of Audiology programs.

The team was recognized for exemplifying Wichita State’s student-centered mentality shown through their excellent customer service, being the go-to destination for many in the community to receive their passports.

President Rick Muma and WuShock crashed the Office of Human Resources’ monthly staff meeting to recognize the staff as this month’s Rick Rewards recipient. The staff was celebrated for the implementation of WuHire, a new system that streamlines the process of hiring staff and students for departments, making it easier for departments to support students on campus.

President Rick Muma, first gentleman Rick Case and WuShock stopped by Landscape and Ground Maintenance at Gaddis Physical Plant to recognize them as this month’s Rick Rewards recipient. President Muma and Case wished to celebrate their work in keeping the campus beautiful for our students, employees and visitors, and for all of their hard work making sure our community is safe during inclement weather, like during the winter storms the campus experienced in January.
