The votes from April’s poll for a new dining concept at the Rhatigan Student Center are in, and the winner is Chaat House! Chaat House is inspired by the regional flavors of India.
Chaat House is scheduled to arrive at the RSC in fall 2021 from WSU Dining.
Paul Leeker, from Colwich, enjoyed his professors in the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs and their assistance in preparing him for a career as a public administrator. A first-generation college student is defined as a student whose parents or legal guardians have not completed a bachelor’s degree. A student who is the first person in their immediate family to attend a four-year college or university to attain a bachelor’s degree.

The First-Gen Coordinating Council is proud to support our first-gen graduates. We have a gift for you. We are providing a yellow and white braided cord for eligible graduates to wear on graduation day. By wearing the cord, you are celebrating your graduation as the last first-gen in your family. Those who are eligible can pick up their cords at their designated location.
The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University is creating online flexibility for three current majors in its degree program. International business, marketing and accounting majors will now be provided online and taught by the same Barton School professors who teach in-person classes.

Twelve years following receiving her Master’s in Business Administration, Janet Federico decided to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Wichita State after rediscovering herself as an author, speaker and illustrator later her career.
Janet also holds an associate’s degree in general studies and a bachelor’s degree in applied management and business. She will graduate with her Master’s of Fine Arts in creative writing in May 2022.
“I fell in love with writing when I started writing down the stories I was telling my daughter,” Federico said. “I started drawing pictures with the stories and creating books for her.”
Prospective team members will be expected to learn a variety of dance skills and styles through video tutorials. The video tutorials will be available at 9 a.m. June 1. The link will be shared with the dancers that have registered using the “Jumpforward” link. Dancers who plan to audition need to register prior to June 1.
All video submissions must be received by noon June 5. All sections of required choreography and skills must be included in the video. This will include across-the-floor skills, band dance, cheer, stinger and hip-hop combo.
The 2021-2022 Shocker Dance team will be announced by 3 p.m. on June 6.
