Student Health Services will not be available while the university is closed for Thanksgiving break Nov 24-27. For medical care, learn more about after-hours care and emergencies. Currently enrolled Wichita State students, staff and faculty can get flu shots from Student Health Services (SHS) at a low cost at the Student Wellness Center inside the Steve Clark YMCA on campus.

Hours Nov. 14-18: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Hours Nov. 21-25: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 21 and 22); 9-11 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 23). Closed Thursday and Friday (Nov. 24 and 25).

The cost of the vaccine is $25 for students and $35 for faculty and staff.

If the patient has insurance, the card must be presented while checking in. Flu shot coverage depends on type of health insurance.

No appointment is required to receive the shot.

Sedgwick County is hosting a free mobile COVID vaccine clinic from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 9 in Charles Koch Arena.

First and second shots and updated boosters will be available, including the Pfizer vaccine for ages 5 and up, and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for ages 18 and up.

No appointments, ID or insurance necessary but please bring your vaccine card.

On Friday, Nov. 4, the Student Wellness Center in the Steve Clark YMCA will be open for Counseling and Prevention Services only.

At-home COVID testing kits are available only on this day at the front desk for no charge while supplies last.

Student Health Services is providing a flu vaccine clinic for WSU students and employees 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 in 142 RSC (Harvest Room).

Flu vaccines are $25 for WSU students and $35 for faculty/staff. If you have health insurance, please bring a copy of your insurance card to receive any free immunization benefits you may have with your insurance plan.

And if you bring two non-perishable food items to donate to the Shocker Support Locker, you’ll receive a $5 discount.
