The next event is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

The 2026 Kansas Gender & Sexuality Conference will be held March 6 at the Marcus Welcome CenterThe conference is free and open to the public. Organizers request that all attendees pre-register to help with the conference planning process, even if they plan to attend only part of the day. About this year’s keynote:

Organizers are excited to share that the keynote speaker will be Dr. Barbara A. Kerr, Distinguished Professor of Counseling Psychology Emerita at the University of Kansas and author of “The Psychology of Liberty: Reclaiming Everyday Freedom,” whose talk is titled “Women and Liberty.”

Fairmount Formal an Alice in Wonderland themed dance hosted by the Student Activities Council. Friday February 20th from 7 PM to 10 PM. Tickets available at the door. Students get 2 FREE tickets, $5 for Faculty/Staff, $8 for community.

Step through the looking glass and into a night of magic at the Fairmount Formal. Join SAC for an enchanting evening complete with music, dancing and whimsical décor from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 in 305/306 Rhatigan Student Center, Beggs Ballroom.

Enjoy delicious food and refreshments as you celebrate with friends and make unforgettable memories. Students get two free tickets, $5 for faculty/staff and $8 for the community.

Led by the community-based recovery organization, The Phoenix-Wichita, alongside HOPE Services and the CARE Team, these meetings will provide a space for grounding meditation and connection with other students in recovery.

The first meeting for spring 2026 will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 in 319 Rhatigan Student Center, McKay Room. No sign-up is required and anyone seeking a recovery space is welcome to join as needed.

Join HOPE Services’ prevention ambassadors for a Joy Cultivation Workshop at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 in 258 Rhatigan Student Center, Smoky Hills Room. This free event is open to anyone interested in learning practical ways to navigate hardship and cultivate more joy in everyday life.

The guest speaker for February, Evris Oake, will lead a one-hour presentation along with an interactive exercise titled “Writing a Path to Joy.” Free snacks are provided.

Get ready. Open Streets ICT: WSU and Shocker Neighborhood is coming back to 17th Street (from Oliver to Volutsia) from noon to 4 p.m. April 19.

Join this free, community-building event. Connect with fellow community members, local vendors, organizations and resources while enjoying a fun, active day outdoors. Last April, more than 10,000 attendees filled 17th Street to celebrate Shocker Pride.
