  • Fresh Start: Substance Use Awareness | 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 on the first floor of the RSC: Learn to recognize, respond to and prevent substance-related emergencies with CARE Team. Join for Narcan education and gain tools to better support yourself and your community.

Established on Nov. 10, 1775, the Marine Corps has upheld a distinguished legacy of faithful service in defense of our nation. This year’s milestone celebration honors two-and-a-half centuries of valor and sacrifice, paying tribute to those who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor with pride. It is a moment to reflect on the Corps’ enduring legacy and to express our gratitude to all Marines, past and present, who continue to safeguard our nation’s ideals.

Marines have served with distinction by defending freedom, upholding the highest traditions of military service, and embodying the spirit of Semper Fidelis, “Always Faithful.”

The WSU Office of Community Partnerships (OCP) was established last fall to help advance the work of Wichita State in meeting the needs of communities across the state. The OCP is to serve as a support and collaborative hub for community-focused initiatives housed in WSU offices aiming to strengthen the well-being of Kansas residents, organizations and communities. The office will serve as resource for faculty, staff and students wanting to engage in community efforts, especially in the public, social and health services fields.

Because of the important work you do with organizations and communities in the state, OCP would like you to join its monthly partnership meeting from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 in 266 Rhatigan Student Center, Pike Room.

Register for the upcoming 2026 Ad Astra Conference on Jan. 30 here at Wichita State. The Ad Astra Conference brings first-generation students from colleges and universities across Kansas and the surrounding states together for a common experience with a desired outcome of greater persistence to graduation.

The featured speaker is Dr. Teresa L. Clounch (Dr. TLC), acting vice president for student life and dean of students, Washburn University.

WSU students can attend for free. Registration is due by by Jan. 16.
