The Purple Mile Annual Domestic Violence Memorial and Awareness Walk and Social Service Fair is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 on campus starting at the north side of the Rhatigan Student Center. For the 10th anniversary, join organizers in remembering those impacted by dating/domestic violence in the community over the last decade, learn about resources and connect with others over light refreshments and art.

For those who wish to participate, a one mile walk on campus follows this year’s guest speakers. You can also join afterwards at Social Tap Drinkery in Braeburn Square, where Social Tap is donating 5% of their proceeds to Wichita Family Crisis Center and Harbor House.

The event is hosted by the Midwest Criminal Justice Institute, WSU HOPE Services, Wichita Family Crisis Center and Harbor House.

The Global Village Assembly is an annual open mic event hosted by Women’s, Ethnicity, and Intersectional Studies (WEIS). Each year, it centers on a theme relevant and related to current conversations on gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, class and the intersectional experience at WSU.

The event, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 2 in 211 Hubbard Hall, is open to all students, faculty and staff across the university and the broader Wichita-area community. It is a unique opportunity to share about life at WSU and consider changes that we can all do to provide a more equitable space of belonging.

The Case of the Missing Grades: an interactive study skills workshop.  A Shocker's grades have mysteriously vanished and it's up to you to crack the case.  9/24 (Wed) from 2 PM to 4 PM (a "drop in" workshop) at Ablah Library. Students, join Student Success and University Libraries for “The Case of the Missing Grades,” an interactive study skills workshop. You will interview Study Skills Suspects (played by WSU faculty and staff), solve mini puzzles, collect clues and work together to crack the case.

You can drop in anytime between 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Ablah Library. The event combines mystery-solving fun with practical academic success strategies.
