Wichita State University Opera Theater, under the direction of Opera Director Alan Held, will present two one-act operas by Gian Carlo Menotti at 7:30 p.m. April 23-24 at Miller Auditorium inside of the Duerksen Fine Arts Center. The performances of “The Old Maid and the Thief” and “Amelia Goes to the Ball,” with the Wichita State University Orchestra, will be conducted by Dr. Mark Laycock. The comedies are favorites of audiences and will be presented in English.
The performances are free, but tickets need to be reserved. Each performance is limited to 250 audience members.
Wichita State Baseball will host two Family Days throughout the remainder of the season: Sunday, May 16 and Thursday, May 20. Join the Shockers for some family fun sponsored by The Wichita Eagle. Purchase includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and four bags of popcorn for only $32. Come support Head Coach Eric Wedge and the team, as they take on conference opponents USF and Memphis.
Wichita State Baseball will be hosting its First Responders and Military Appreciation Day on May 15. Free admission for all military, firefighters, police, paramedics, and nurses with I.D. confirmation. Come enjoy the game as the Shockers take on conference opponent USF.
Wichita State Baseball will be hosting Kids Day on Saturday, May 22 vs. Memphis. Kids eight grade and younger receive free admission with a purchase of an adult ticket. Bring the kiddos and come support the Shockers as they take on the Tigers.

WWSU scholarship applications for the 2021-2022 academic year must be received by May 31.

Candidates will receive written notification of their award status in late June.
Recipients are encouraged to attend at least one WWSU event during the 2021-2022 school year as our guest.
